I had no idea this was as common as it appears to be…. Had it happen earlier this year…. The repair kits listed are kinda fugly, and I am certainly way out of warranty… someone in the thread gave me an idea (stuffing a little piece of paper in the hole… I may try melt some plastic on the shaft...
Would love to hear more about these…. Especially if there is a wireless option, I tow multiple trailers and this would be beneficial!
Edit: I have checked out visionworks, and while they are wireless I will not be mounting a separate screen
Usage plays a big role as well…. For the amount of time the majority of 4wd’s actually spend in 4wd either lifted or lowered it probably doesnt matter that much….
But, if you are applying power when at extreme angles, have large tires stuffed or drooped and/or the wheels cranked to one side...
To be fair, I have not seen one first hand myself, but as I was taking to IHC about their 3” lowering spindles they send me this picture of a Ram equipped with them sitting on vehicle weight, and while its always hard to tell from one picture, especially with the boots on, I feel like these...
Picked up a set of the BD Diesel manifolds myself, somewhat preemptive strike, its not bad, but the leak is there, figure it will be easier to do when I do the lowering installation
As an addition to this thread, I have been thinking about extended travel CV’s for lowered trucks as well, and had a conversation with a tech at Trakmotive and while they have not specifically tested them on lowered 4wd’s in theory the benefits they provide to lifted trucks also applies to...
It begins…. Kinda
Picked up the IHC upper and lower 3” control arms and their Cut Kit today….
Have not yet decided on the setup for the rear, may pick up a set of 4” coils and see what that looks like with the aux air bags with regards to if there is even room for them back there (and if when...
I decided to create a thread on my research and plans for my 2020 Ram Crew Cab 6’4” suspension…
Not doing this for lack of information that is out here (and other sites), and there are some really great threads on here that go into these changes!! You all know who you are !!
I am no stranger...
I have a set of 40 inch trail grapplers on my jeep and they have been amazing…. Of course no where near as many miles, but constant rotations and pressure monitoring….
I am absolutely contemplating Nittos for my Ram with new wheels and using the stocker 22’s as winter wheels
Alignment was checked when they were installed (they were $2200 for the set Canadian dollars) so I wanted to be sure I was not going to have issues based on that…. Crappy tires? I struggle with that because when they had tread I felt they were excellent, they just did not last….
Would I buy...
Feedback on the continentals, I had them in the stock 285/45-22’s, and will say was not pleased with them overall… I rotate at every oil change, and monitor air pressure (not just on the screen, with an actual gauge), and I put on a lot of highway miles, and also tow a wake boat (not light)...
Tackled this today…. Tried to use my normal spark plug sockets, and then using the coil pack to remove the loosened plugs…. After the first plug I just broke down and drove into town for the $13 (Canadian) magnetic socket and that worked just dandy….
Once you are in the groove it’s really not...
I just ordered up a set of these as the stock replacement GY’s the dealer had on when I bought the truck have finally died their as quick as expected death…. Looking forward to the Conti’s
Finally summer, picked up the boat at the dealer…. threw 50 lbs in the airbags, ended up dropping down to 22-23 once I hooked up to level, she pulled like a champ….
Never hit a scale, but I will to verify…. Boat is ‘supposed’ to be 6400lbs dry on the trailer, I have about 40 gallons of fuel in...
Finally decided on bags, bought and installed….
Was hard to get the Timber Groves in Canada, sent off an email to the distributor and did not receive anything back, and the clock was ticking, so I went with the Airlift 5000 Ultimate, not the plus….
Picked them up yesterday and pulled into the...
