What did you do to your Ram today???

AWE exhaust, sounds great. Definitely an improvement over the stock tone.

3.0L I6 Hurricane HO Twin Turbo Fuel Octane?

My commute is 60 miles daily, with speeds around 70-80. Best MGPs are around 70 in this thing.

3.0L I6 Hurricane HO Twin Turbo Fuel Octane?

All my calcs are by hand. I've documented every tank of gas it has ever had.

3.0L I6 Hurricane HO Twin Turbo Fuel Octane?

I get 18mph all day long, not just on certain trips. Though I will be heading to OBX in a few, bet I'm over 20 on that trip. Point is, there is no real MPG benefit to a SO over a HO, other than the HO driver may be a bit more throttle happy.

Ram Ups the Ante with 10-Year, 100K-Mile Powertrain Warranty

It's almost July and you need to have retail delivery by September 2nd, so better get cracking :)

3.0L I6 Hurricane HO Twin Turbo Fuel Octane?

From what I've seen I don't see many SO's getting better than 17-19mpg on here with more than one trip under their belt.

Ahh the fine print on that "10 yr warranty"

3.0L I6 Hurricane HO Twin Turbo Fuel Octane?

Agreed. If you buy a vehicle, understand the long term cost. I've had my Limited since August 2024, I've bought 1,005.10 gallons of fuel. So, premium (93 octane) costs me an average of $3.85 a gallon over the time I've owned the vehicle with a total fuel cost of $3,864.82. If I had had 87...

3.0L I6 Hurricane HO Twin Turbo Fuel Octane?

91+ octane. There is no debate about that on the HO motor.

Line X, had it on 5 different trucks and never had an issue.

    Hemi s Back

The 6.4 in the 2500 makes 405hp. I still say the 5.7 numbers need to go up, especially if you're paying $1200 more for a weaker motor in 26.

    Hemi s Back

Certainly not required, the power is absolutely better. We'll see how buyers go in 2 years to shop trucks after a bunch of NASCAR ads saying "give me the motor with less power" ;) In all seriousness, there is an absolute difference in merging on an interstate daily with 395hp and 540.

    Hemi s Back

That's your opinion. My opinion, and my cash, want 540hp and no doubt I'm merging without an issue. I bought this last August and have a smile every mile.

    Hemi s Back

With a 540hp I6 in the same truck, I can't see how they don't upgrade the Hemi at some point from having under 400hp.

The HEMI V8 Is Back: 2026 Ram 1500 Brings Power and Choice

My favorite part: “Ram will continue to offer the more powerful and more efficient Hurricane Straight Six Turbo, but we heard loud and clear from consumers: there is no replacement for the iconic HEMI V8,” said Kuniskis. “At the end of each month, we count sales to customers—not statisticians...

    Hurricane Fuel Octane

I think the point not coming up here is if you're viewing it as cost per mile, then you should only evaluate it against other motors using the exact same propellant. If your comment is about higher mpgs, then stick to the same octane levels. But saying one engine runs a different fuel so somehow...

    Hurricane Fuel Octane

What is the sense on that? Fuel economy, in the auto sense, is based on the miles per gallon, not cost per mile. If I just wanted to consider the cost difference of 87 vs 91, I could have saved about $800 in a year if mine didn't require premium. But the smiles per mile would have been...

Hurricane HO Oil Change Pricing Question

Yeah everything seems to say the Mopar filters are the same for both SO and HO. On the oil side: You'd need to pay tax on the NAPA price (puts it around $65 for the oil), and a filter ($7.30 plus shipping and tax, call that $10.00) so more like $75-80 at the cheapest. As much as I am a 'change...
