The wiring is there, they can update the sales code(they say they did). The flashing odometer, means they didn't perform a proxy alignment(this is where the vehicle learns a new module).
If you can unplug that module behind the seat and take a picture of the connector, so we can see the female...
Tell that dealer to have a tech unhook the module and look at the wiring, it's all there. You do not need to remove the seat to get to the module connector.
Charging system is working as intended.
Alignment question, are you taking it to the dealer you purchased it from? The reason I ask, alignments are not paid by warranty in the first 500 miles, unless caught on the pdi. If this is the selling dealer, they can eat the cost because they missed it...
It's not BS if it is true, the reason warranty won't pay is because it should have been caught on the PDI. Take it back to your selling dealer. Not all are out to give you a prostate hammering.
It tells me that Stellantis isn't paying their bills on time and the contracts from suppliers are being canceled/modified. A cut rate global corporation is screwing the suppliers, pushing some suppliers to the verge of bankruptcy.
It is definitely a shop only tool. I just moved to an independent shop and we have the same tool from BG. There are other options, I believe seafoam has a can that works similar, I am sure there are others.
You waited 2 hours and had a diag fee of $180, what is so bad about that? I talked to my physican at my last physical about my blood pressure and the medication I was on, cost me an extra $135. A less than 5 minute conversion during my yearly physical was an extra charge on top of the physical.
Just to clear the air on BG services, it changed a few years ago. They no longer pull the fuel line and run the truck on a cleaner. Now they dump a can of BG 44k cleaner in the tank, run the 22oz intake/valve/combustion cleaner through the throttle body.

If what we were told in training a couple years ago, they were working on a direct injected hemi replacement. Not sure how far along they got with that.
That doesn't change the fact that your thought of "It's all about the money, if the truck brakes the trailer brakes", there is definitely an advantage to have the factory option installed.
