I've noticed that my 2021 Bighorn runs about 10 degrees hotter on average than my 2015 (roughly 205 degrees vs 195 degrees). Pretty much everything is the same (V8, 4x4, etc.) except that the 2021 has the 3.92 instead of 3.21 and also has eTorque.
If someone bought an electric truck and expected to tow out of town, then they have more money than brains.
Even once/if the majority of vehicles go fully electric, trucks will still likely be hybrid for those long-haul towing situations.
They all do this stuff. For every story about how great American Family, State Farm, Geico, etc handled it all, there are just as many where they tried to screw over a customer. Find the best price, work with an insurance broker if you know an honest one, and then be prepared to fight whenever...
The best advice that I can give is to sell it exactly how you bought it, as a Laramie Longhorn Limited. If you are listing it online and have to choose from pull-down options, go with whatever comes closest to Laramie Longhorn Limited at the highest price.
I would love a fully electric truck, but will be a late adopter due to my uses. Our cabin is 250 miles away and water access only, so I can't charge when I get there. My truck sits at a public boat launch until I leave. Therefore I need fast charging options on the trip or the ability to tow 500...
For a few nights after I got my 2021, I drove around to break in the engine. It was fun. Then I hooked up my boat and took the slow route up north, which is exactly 500 miles round trip. I would be weary about tossing on that heavy of a trailer before the engine is broken in.
I think of it this...
Congrats! Just wait until you upgrade tires though...
With stock tires my truck averaged in the high teens. When driving from Minnesota to Colorado and back, I averaged 24mpg at an average of 70mph. Since putting on my aggressive tires, my highway mpg is more around 20 and city is around 15...
Sounds like the whatsnot isn't hee-hawing with the thing-a-majiggy.
Unhook the battery and wait a few minutes. Then reconnect and give it a try. If still a no go, call the tow buggy.
A few years back my wife wanted a BMW. It's one instance where I put my foot in the ground about not owning one. She ended up leasing a demo car with 5k miles on it. She got a good discount on it and the warranty started with her lease. We then bought it and traded it in on a new Audi.
I was...
I'm with most others. Change it somewhere between the 5k-10k mark depending on how anal you feel about it. I don't drive far in my daily life but tow my 17' boat or snowmobiles 500 miles roundtrip quite frequently up north. I usually change it somewhere around 7-8k miles. If I am anywhere close...
My wife's 2018 BMW will auto-stop just before the wheels stop moving, and the car comes to a sudden stop (as if the brakes were applied suddenly). I like how my 2021 Ram waits until I have come to a complete stop.
Sometimes my truck will restart abruptly with a little jerk. Annoying but nothing...
I was a long-time Ford owner (owned five of them) and finally tried every brand in 2015 before settling on a Ram. I am now on my second one and can't believe the difference in quality, not only interior but just mechanical. Everyone's experience may be different, and individual trucks are all...
