I'm happy that you got it done. The last starter I did was on an '85 F150. The starter was so easy to access - it took me only 20min. My Ram took me 5hrs because I couldn't get that bottom bolt out until I found the right tool combo.
The starter went out on my 2021 Ram back in May. It was the same thing - one click and then nothing. I picked up a remanufactured starter from one of the chain part stores for $215 or so because the two dealerships near me didn't have any OEM starters in stock.
The new starter has been just...
I never saw the e-bike or the rider. I was out on a 30-mile bike ride myself that morning, so everything was done by the time I returned home.
I suspect that his bike was in worse shape than my truck. That was an expensive morning for him considering his bike damage, any medical/re-hab bills...
Ironically I was out on a bike ride myself (no, I don't own an e-bike). I guess that he and his bike continued down the street until he realized that he was too disoriented to keep moving. Eventually the police showed up, thanks to my neighbor. Otherwise he would have eventually gotten his...
As I understand importing, whomever you work with for the logistics will have to go through customs. They will pay the fees, taxes, and tariffs on your behalf and then you compensate the logistics company for their work and all payments incurred on your behalf.
When you authorize the shop to "clean the pipes and replace a sensor" then the payment is for those goods and services. The verbal or written contract is for the parts and service, period. The only grounds you have to stand upon is if you took the truck in, said that it wasn't working, and they...
A guy on an e-bike slammed into my parked truck over the weekend. He got beat up pretty good trying to ram my Ram. He left behind a tooth, a few drops of blood, and a lot of broken bike parts.
Luckily a neighbor saw it, called the police, and they wrote up a report. My insurance is involved and...
#1 - there are no guarantees offered by auto shops that their fixes will fix the problem. I don't know how you can take them to small claims for that $1k fix. They tried their best and it sounds like you declined the EGR replacement.
#2 - it's crazy for the dealer to hold onto your truck for 6...
This past winter, my truck started automatically accelerating on its own. It was a gradual acceleration similar to if cruise control was on, but it wasn't. I could only slow it down by using the brake. Scary stuff.
After it happened a second time, I removed the Pedal Commander running on my...
The starter on my 2021 Bighorn with 75k miles died in May. I got the single click too, so slid underneath with a hammer, gave it a tap, and it started up. I installed an aftermarket starter and it's working fine ever since. The two dealers nearest me were over two weeks out for appointments. Who...
When I was a tow truck driver in college, the first car that I learned to unlock was my '83 Mustang. It had a stick lock like our Ram trucks. When they showed me how to slide in a wedge and use the lock-lifter to pull up on the lock, I was amazed at how easy it was to break into a car. The...
Thanks for the responses.
I typed in "lock" and "door lock" and "skin" and few other searches and never found anything. Apparently I'm not good at this search thing!
It's great to know that there is an option to fix this. It looks like I have a new mini-project.
I didn't see any threads about this topic. Does anyone have a problem with the front door locks catching your skin as the doors automatically lock? It has nabbed my brother probably twenty times over the years, and just got my wife for the second or third time. When I hit 15mph and the doors...
It's a bad idea because most people don't care enough to learn when it is okay versus not okay. The problem is when turning. Your tires need to slip because of the distance disparity. On a wet, gravel, muddy, or snowy surface the tire can slip easily. On a dry surface you get wheel hop which is...
I purchased these black lugs two years ago. They still look great even though I rotate the tires twice per year. They are still black as night.

Hoping it's just through the floor mat. My sub just sits under that rear left seat without being tethered to anything. I've locked up the brakes for flying turkeys, idiot drivers, too many deer, and other hazards. Not once has my sub slid out from under the seat. I don't believe that there is a...
That sucks to deal with. You didn't list any info about your truck. What is the year and model? Is it still under warranty? You said that it's been having this problem for the past few months. Is it safe to assume that it worked correctly before then?
