2022 Ram ecodiesel hard start issues after driving 2 hours

Do you have the same hard start on a cold start? If you have access to an OBD scanner that can show live data, look at the fuel pressures. At first look, it sounds like a fuel starvation issue. Don't fall into the trap of thinking that replaced parts are 100% functional.

    Should you engage 4WD periodically?

I've been on the various RAM forums since I bought my first RAM in 2013, so what is that, about 11 years. I do not recall ever reading a thread where someone has an issue with engaging 4-wheel drive (auto, lock, or low) including the RAM HDs, for any reason. That doesn't mean it never happened...

    Should you engage 4WD periodically?

I do too, once a month I'll run it through 4 4-wheel lock and 4-wheel low. I have no idea if this is a requirement or suggested by RAM but what can it hurt. At least I am cycling the transfer case and moving the shifting mechanisms and moving lubricating fluid.

    Lubricating Power Running Boards

My 2022 came with power running boards, driving in a winter climate and living on dirt roads, I've yet to have any issues with the power running boards. The rear deployable bed step, that's a different story. I've had, at times, a difficult time getting the bed step to deploy. I've tried...

    Trailer Light Check Option?

From my experiences with the two RAMs I own, the truck can only determine if a trailer is connected if the trailer has brakes. The ITBM periodically sends a pulse on the brake line looking for a brake circuit, if it detects a slight current draw, it assumes a trailer is connected. The actions...

    Lever Action 357

I've got several Henry Big Boys in .357 and .44 mag., carbine and 20" barrels with and without side gate loading, all are large loop. Unlike DEG, my experiences have been perfect, not a single issue with any of them. Henrys have the smoothest actions I've ever seen. Henrys also has a lifetime...

    Power Surge on USB

My truck displayed the "Power Surge on USB hub detected. Please disconnect the device" for the first time today. It's not heat-related, mid-70s and a cloudy day. I do not have anything plugged into any USB connector nor do I use the wireless charge pad. The only thing I can think of, and this...

    Lithium crank battery

What do you mean by "better performance"? A crank battery either cranks or it doesn't. In today's vehicles, the computer won't try to engage a start if the battery falls below a voltage threshold. Longevity, I think this has yet to be determined and, this chemistry has a nasty habit of catching...

What Do the Trailer Brake Settings Actually Do?

The definition of "gain" may be subjective in this context. Let's define what the "gain" setting does. When you set the gain of the trailer brake controller, you are setting the maximum amount of proportional braking provided to the trailer. If you set the gain to half, the PWM signal will never...

What Do the Trailer Brake Settings Actually Do?

I did view the brake controller's PIDs. As Reagan said, trust with verification. I was investigating an issue with the ITBM at the time, a very serious problem. RAM seemed to have an issue settling in on a brake control behavior. In 2013 MY they introduced a new brake controller, in 2014 MY...

What Do the Trailer Brake Settings Actually Do?

I've wondered the same and looked at the PWM signals on the trailer brake circuit using an oscilloscope. The test was a 2015 RAM 3500 and a 2015 Montana 3790RD camper with electromagnetic brakes on both axles. After recording several braking events from different speeds using the various...

    Auto Dimming High Beams

This ^^^^ but remember there is a speed limitation on auto high beams, the vehicle has to be moving at (if I remember correctly) 25 MPH or faster for the system to engage. Now the question is why are your high beams not turning off when a vehicle is approaching, well, I don't know. On my...

    Ram sales down

Don't forget about the crowd that is carrying negative equity, my wife's salesperson told us people are flabbergasted when they discover how much negative equity they have accumulated from past trades and new purchase deals. With the higher interest rates, the negative equity is hurting and when...

Do the TPMSs "auto-locate" after Tire Rotation?

The first video covered 2013 through 2018 RAMs, listen again. Some just refuse to understand. My 2022 has antennas in each wheel, I've seen the front ones. But that aside, answer the basic question, how does the truck know which TPMS sensor is in which wheel well if not for localized antennas?

Do the TPMSs "auto-locate" after Tire Rotation?

If that is the case, how can the truck detect which sensor ID is located in which wheel well? A few years ago I recall looking at the schematic and seeing the antenna inputs. If you watch the video linked below, one of the wheel well antennas is shown. Here is another video discussing...
