What’s up everyone, I am getting a 3.5” lift kit installed tomorrow (Thursday) and they will be doing an alignment after. But on Sunday, I have new tires (Falken Wildpeak 285/65r20) coming in to replace the stock Bridgestone Dueler H/L’s. So, I’m wondering if I need to do yet another alignment...
Hopefully this puts an end to this debate... LOL!
and an end to the people who have been spreading myths as facts! (93 won’t burn all the fuel completely as compared to 89 because of timing etc.)
Lol my lady says the same exact thing!
Let me know how it works out for you, ever since I converted my 72-6514 to the 6515 the drone noise is completely gone. Like @Sascwatch mentioned, I 100% believe it’s done intentionally for the ANC to work properly.
Yeah it’s weird. So, I just ended up reversing all the pins on the metra 72-6514 adapters that way I would keep the polarity the same (-) (effectively converting them to the 72-6515 adapters)on all my speakers. I then removed my ANC bypass to see if the drone noise was somehow being caused by...
@Sascwatch Confirmed with the multimeter. The grey/violet is positive and the grey/yellow is negative. The polarity on the speakers of the car are negative. So if you dont swap all the speakers on your car and ensure the polarity is the same on all, they will be out of phase relative to one...
just saw this in the speaker pop app:
Anomalies
Note that many speaker manufacturers wire the tweeter backwards, compared to the main drive or woofer. So, you might read a minus near the tweeter, and a plus near the main (larger) driver. This is normal, and you should use the results from the...
I just used the speaker pop app and all my door speakers have the correct polarity (+ according to the speaker pop app). BUT the dash speakers which I didn’t swap out show - on the app, which means the polarity on this vehicle is reversed! Im going to do one final test using a multimeter just to...
It is the front left door.
Yeah, I tried it out with the wires reversed, and the speaker was actually popping inwards... Apart from this, the bass and sound quality was reduced and sounded a bit thin/tinny compared to how they were originally wired.
Thanks man! Appreciate it. I swapped it back....
I think since @Sascwatch has the Harmon Kardon system, the factory harness must be different assuming his polarity is correct. Because clearly on my 2021 Ram 1500 6 speaker base system, the metra 72-6514 is correctly wired with the white wire...
So then it seems like I didn’t have to swap the wires at all based on what I’m seeing. If the purple tracer is positive it should be linked up to the white wire....
I depinned my metra connector and swapped the locations but I want to make sure this is correct for my 2021 1500...
here’s what it looks like after I swapped the locations of the wires on the metra harness:
Lol hopefully you’re right! I threw away my packaging for the 6514 harness and Im being too lazy right now to take off my door panels to confirm. I feel like I did check polarity but now I have the doubt in my head...
Update: Ramcares advised to get second opinion from another dealer. Second dealer said this is normal and also said that the car is too new and comes with adaptive learning. To drive it some more to see if it goes away... Just an effort to get me to go away. Told ramcares about this, they said...
Yeah they told me they don’t see a TSB for my vehicle in their system. I mentioned the one that someone posted on here but I think it pertains only to the 2019 model and mine is a 2021. I think it’s crazy that I should be having to hit the gear limit button on the steering wheel to disable the...
