Still poor. Can’t get AC to blow colder than 50 deg no matter what. I have owned two of these 5th gens and my buddy and coworker has owned two of them also , none of our 4 5th gen trucks has blown colder than 50 deg. His black limited was really bad, it would blow like 62 deg at 100 ambient. He...
2019 Big Horn 1500 driven for 10,000 miles and never took it to the dealership for any problems, however it did suffer from the poor AC system which I fixed with the valve hack.
2020 Laramie 7500 miles and had zero problems until they did an OTA update on the 12” screen a couple months ago in...
Thats all great and dandy but many of us can’t get 45 deg air when it’s 70 deg outside and cloudy. There is clearly a defect in many trucks , and now FCA is admitting what many of us have been complaining about for 2 years! Hopefully it doesn’t require them pulling dashes because that’s going to...
Its okay to be concerned but Id wait til your truck actually arrives and then test drive it on a hot day and see how it feels. Wouldn't hurt to bring a thermometer with you on the test drive. Some people get trucks that have good AC, others dont. Me and my buddy are 0 for 4 on new 5th gen trucks...
My question is will the factory or Bilstein rear shocks work with basically a 2" lift in the rear? Bilstein says 0-1" on the rear shocks so Im curious if Ill have issues with essentially a 2" lift.
Need some help. I have an ORP 1500, I want to do Billstein fronts and also put a 1" spacer in the rear. Seeing as the ORP trucks have 1" of lift already will the factory or Bilsteins rear shocks work with basically 2" of lift in the rear?
I wouldn’t get too excited about the listed payload on the F150, I had a 3.5 Eco with max tow and the suspension was pretty damn weak. I had to add airbags to the rear suspension to tow a boat that weighed about 4500 lbs because it squatted so much. I don’t buy those payload ratings for 1 second.
Wanting something smaller is about the only reason I could see buying a Tacoma. The ride quality isn’t very good, they are dogs in the the power dept (3.5 L or 4.0L not much difference) can’t carry much, can’t tow much, way less room inside, both front and back seats as well as bed space. To me...
Having owned several Tundras, a F150 with the 3.5 Eco and two 5th gen Rams id say power wise they are all about equal. The 10 spd was nice in the F150 and I think that’s why it edged out the Ram a bit in MPG, the Tundras were the worst because of the 6spd tranny but they all pulled heavy loads...
These 2 trucks being compared are apples and oranges. My son has a Tacoma as do a couple buddies, there is zero comparison between the Taco and a Ram 1500, in any category.
That’s how all these trucks AC should perform, not 52-58 deg AC. You got a good one. I’ve owned two of these 5th gens and my buddy has owned two, two 2019’s and two 2020’s, none of the 4 of our trucks will blow below 50 on any AC setting without installing the hack.
Humidity is non existent where I live and the AC is still sub par, so I wouldn’t blame it on humidity. For me 90 deg or over I use the valve to shut off flow to the heater core, under 90 deg I keep the valve open.
Hell, forget comparing it to other vehicles , my buddies 2019 Classic blows 38 deg out of the vents, that's 14 degrees colder than the 4 5th Gen Rams me and another buddy have owned.
Its a pain in the ***, I don’t just set my cruise and follow others 3 truck lengths back. There’s always slower moving vehicles regardless of the highway or interstate and it wanting me to slow down all the time, it’s just annoying. On my wife’s lexus you can’t even disable it, just minimize the...
