You're not going to get "max tow" numbers. Those are marketing values only. By the time you open the door jamb of a 2025 bighorn with sunroof, ramboxs, generator, 4x4 etc, you'll be in the 1300 to 1500 pound territory.
You cannot compare a 1/2 ton to a 3/4 ton truck. The 3/4 ton will output...
Don't you guys know anything about your own economy? You literally cannot produce the oil that is needed (in large part), Alberta and Venezula and Middle East are the only known sources of this thick crude oil produced in Alberta. The specific refineries in the USA that use this oil cannot just...
You can get entire kits for something like this, cam + springs + mds delete etc. You'd need to have it tuned professionally as well, either by them or someone else. I'd get the "hellfire" kit as its the best version for our trucks. After that, longtube headers would be beneficial...
I bought the ksource snap mirrors and still have them. But to be honest I just run around towing without them. My RV is 8 feet wide but I find the little round spot mirrors to do everything I need, and I can still see good enough on the main mirror as well.
Main reason for not using them, I...
General rule of thumb, for a travel trailer you take about 13% of GVWR on the trailer to calculate how much tongue weight you'd add to your truck. 13% of 9540 is about 1200 pounds, so simply connecting the trailer to your truck you're already over payload.
That doesn't even include the weight...
Thanks for your writeup! So I'm trying to get the parts together from what you listed in your posts on the first page, does this look right to you?

Owned my truck since 2019 and never knew this about, tonight I just discovered that my puddle lights and interior lights weren't working and was about ready to start pulling fuses until reading this, thanks for the info!
Stellantis has a history of saying stupid things; like apparently the hemi is "fine" on 87 but you can read reports all over of guys getting ping and logging it from the computer, they say the transmission fluid is "lifetime" and have no spot in the maintenance schedule to service it and yet ZF...
Looks like a nice setup!
Commenting on your wish for 17" rims in your sig, I don't believe those would fit, even 18's have a rough time with thicker counter weights the shop tried to use on mine to get them to balance, they were hitting the calipers.
They're both the same far as I know; same design, same parts, same failure rates. It's the DFM system that is causing it. Their 6.6 in the 2500 is basically the same engine design, only with a strong cast iron block (like the hemi!) and no DFM, and that engine is pretty bullet proof.
Anything's possible I guess, but from what I can see on their forums there are more people complaining about lifter failures. Even their 2.7 turbo has this issue to some extent though it doesn't use the same system.
GM has engine options that you can't get anywhere else. Their 3.0 diesel is pretty nice, and the 5.3 is a fuel sipping v8, whereas the 6.2 is the most powerful v8 and was chosen as the best engine for towing in a halfton by a recent review I watched (they chose the 6.2 over the HO hurricane for...
I'd invest in something like the hensley stinger or propride WDH if I was pulling that heavy. They eliminate side to side sway.
Bags do not transfer weight forward. All they do is level your truck, they don't help redistribute weight. In fact they might make that problem worse as the stiffer...
You can still get a brand new 6.4 SRT for $6500 shipped to your address of choice (you need a forklift or pay extra to have them deliver to house with a lift). A number of guys have swapped them into a 1500, they bolt right up and reuse your accessories, requires a tune.
I don't agree at all. The 5.7 is a 20 year old engine, and it's still competitive with the 5.3, and 6.2 from GM, fitting between them in terms of HP and displacement and performance. It was neck and neck with the Tundra 5.7 and Nissan's v8s, they were around 400 hp; it's also competitive with...
