    Limited towing capacity

Thanks so much for posting that

    Oct Rebates

The local dealer said he could not give me a quote on a factor build one because 'the system' wouldn't let him build any trim with an etorque.

    Oct Rebates

I was that as well, this is what I was told by Dennis Dillon

    Oct Rebates

For a factory order the dealer I talked to would lock in the price including rebates like the current $1500 customer cash one when you place the order, not when it gets delivered. At delivery time rebates like Penfed, Sam's club etc would be evaluated and subtracted. I am looking at the...

Hemi 5.7 eTorque unavailable for new builds?

That is what I was told by a dealer who said he would try to create a factory order for me: "Currently, RAM is not allowing the exact build you shared to even be configured nor ordered. The 5.7L V8 MDS VVT e Torque Engine as a whole is currently not available to be built." Of course in the same...

    Limited towing capacity

Thinking about getting one, 4x4, most options except panoramic roof and 22 inch wheels. It has the 3.92 axle. Loading it with 650 pounds of dogs and humans. Looking at getting a trailer 4250 dry, 7100 wet and probably putting most of the gear in the trailer. Doable?

    Employee pricing

I subtract all rebates from invoice and subtract the dealer holdback, then I add 3 % or so for an in my eye reasonable profit. Example, base 4x4 Laramie has an factory invoice of $43678, MSRP of $47390 and 3K rebates according to nada guides. Holdback is 3% of MSRP, so $ 1420. So 43678-3000-1420...

Decided on the Ram, now need some help with the options :-)

While specing it out, it looks I might be better off by going to a Limited since we pretty much want it all :-)

    Employee pricing

I usually go over to nadaguides and spec out what I want on that site; it shows both MSRP and Invoice plus available rebates and incentives in your region. Dealer holdback is 3% of MSRP so I calculate the true dealer cost to be invoice - rebates - holdback. I think a reasonable profit margin...

Decided on the Ram, now need some help with the options :-)

I saw the auto fold on the back or sports appearance only and yes the safety group is nice, I like the 360 camera view which you lose with the towing package so I hadn't added that to my earlier configuration. I think the towing package is super weak by the way, I liked the F-150 telescoping...

Decided on the Ram, now need some help with the options :-)

Wow, learning a lot here, thanks so much. And I even posted in the wrong forum, missed the 'towing' one. I think I will stick with the 26 gallon tank, get rid of the towing package and just add the brake assist, and stick to the 5.7 bed. Looks the automatic fold in mirrors are only available in...

Decided on the Ram, now need some help with the options :-)

And it looks like the gvwr stays the same, at least when using nada

Decided on the Ram, now need some help with the options :-)

I test drove an F-150 and compared it with the new 1500 Laramie Crew Cab with eTorque and it was a no contest for both myself and the wife. So now the time has come to figure out what options we want/should have. Living in Colorado so some snow and ice in the winter and planning to buy a...

    Etorque? Worth it?

US. Someone explained to me it is a 2400 upgrade from the standard V6. I didn't realize that since I looked at the Laramie and the V6 is not an option.

    Etorque? Worth it?

Valuable info and pretty much mirrors my view. If I am going with the ram I will go with the etorque engine, I really liked the way that truck drove yesterday.

    Etorque? Worth it?

I didn't notice it at all during my test drive, versus the traditional where you feel the car start. Drive some friends car that had it and also had it turned off for the same reason

    Etorque? Worth it?

Too funny, I just calculated that myself and was going to post it. So if my wife drives it we will get to the break even point in 4 years, for me in about 8. And there is something to be said for the remark my trucker brother in law had, 'just another expensive part that can break'. Then again...

    Etorque? Worth it?

Thanks for the explanation. I looked at the Laramie trim and the v6 is not even an option, I missed that.
