We got a pet carrier box on Amazon when we got our pup. It had zippers on the corners so you could fold it flat for storage, a strap thru grommets at the back bottom corners that connected to seatbelt receivers, and a strap that looped around the front & back seat headrests to hold it up...
I’ve been towing 6k TT for 5 yr and in best conditions get around 12 mpg. Wind takes me down to 8 mpg, but my biggest ‘issue’ is the trans…cruise (or me being careless) keeps the trans in 5-6th gear 90%+ of the time, whereas I can usually get her into 7th if I’m paying attention…and that usually...
Had it…twice! Also made one hell of a ‘clunk’ like a breaker being thrown out (a BIG one). First time I was towed to closest dealer and they found hundreds of errors related to the battery. They charged it and all errors went away. No problem for 2 more years then it happened again (2 days...
I always expected rodent damage sooner or later (we tow/camp a lot) but this week it was a cat. Opened garage and had fur all over truck, crap on the concrete and several urine stains around garage. No cat found dead or alive. Realized that garage had last/only been opened by other half 3 days...
And a couple of years later… I took a rock at the NM/TX line that started a slow moving crack. Wasn’t my highest priority in getting life started in north Houston area. After getting new progressive insurance in TX, I received a $45 refund. When I asked my agent, was told they decided to waive...
Agreed….just picked up my Ltd after having two cracked exhaust manifolds replaced (yay for full extended warranty!) and asked my service guy if they had any advance info on REV or Ramcharger (he knows I want the Ramcharger BAD) and he said ”no, but the REV won’t be around long enough to worry...
I just ordered the map/nav update ($99 'special' thru 8/31) for my 2019 1500 Ltd. Even if it's a 2021 map update, the nav loaded on the 2019's was actually a 2017 product, so it's still a 4 year leap in map details. Fingers crossed that it doesn't blow out anything else!
So all these posts seem to have 2020-2022 models. I've got a 2019 Ltd CC with e-torque. Since my maps are from 2017, I'd dearly love to update them, but would also love to avoid the nightmare of screwing my nav system (I don't subscribe to Guardian- the last software update finally made in-cab...
I went with the manual's break-in rec. We drove a long, leisurely route home, keeping speed under 65 and varying it every 15 min from 50 to 65 mph. Then we took a leisurely weekend drive to get the remaining 150 miles done. We then did a couple hundred miles towing the trailer at a lower speed...
I’ve got the 2019 Ltd crew cab w/e-torque and love it. Have 16,500 mile, 4,800 of them towing our 5k# trailer. When in town, the auto stop on idle is seamless (I was leery of it as my Acura‘s auto stop was a convulse/lurch nightmare) though it does cause the AC to blow warmer until some line is...
I guess I’m glad I’m not crazy! I know things will ultimately get back to a new normal (not that manufacturers will give up ‘just in time’ supply chains) and values will come back down, this valuation phenomena just shocked me.
BTW, I always was the guy who held a car for 10 yr (and had it...
OK, some of you will shake your heads and wonder how I got so OCD...
BUT...
I keep track of our financial picture, which includes adjusting the asset value of our automobiles on a monthly basis. Until June 2020, that meant devaluing every car I've owned since 2000. I use kbb.com and take the...
I’ve got body color bumpers and yes, they’ve got quite a collection of rock chips..but so does the chrome sections of the grill & side mirrors.
New Mexico...why we can’t have anything nice!
If it smelled like feet, you need to change the cabin air filter. I’ve had that recurring issue with every car in last 10 years (was WAY worse in midwest where humidity is brutal) and a filter change always clears it up for a year or two.
I'm in agreement with Nicolasbvillegas - I put a post on page 7 of the "everything you need to know" thread that included a calculation spreadsheet, how I weighed at CAT and how I then calculated the tongue weight and remaining available payload. I'd also suspect that you can handle up to 6500#...
I'm sure I saw the ability to manually set length in the manual - do a query in the pdf. We have a 24' TT and the auto-detect has always picked it up as 30', which is correct as it's in 10' increments. The only glitch I've had was when starting the truck, hitching the TT and then pulling out...
Walkies, 12v inflator, 275# torque wrench (my version of your 45s), solar shade (makes HUGE impact on AC efficiency if you prevent the dash going nuclear when parked) and most importently: 2 rolls of good TP in the center console!
And PLEASE don’t drive faster than 55-60 towing a Uhaul. They post 55 mph max on their trailers (in reverse print so you see it every time you look in side mirrors), but I see people barreling down the road at 75-80 mph. We used the double axle trailer (twice) moving from Chicago to NM and on...
