That's it, the EPA gives out credits for manufacturers when they implement the auto start stop. But change is coming. The EPA, thanks to the current administration in the White House right now, is proposing a rollback of the federal incentives that incentivizes the manufacturers to include the...
I know I have seen a couple threads about some bearing going bad on the e-torque system and if I remember correctly there were roughly like 5000 on back order, so guys were stuck waiting a long time for parts. So there are things that can go wrong with the e-torque other than the battery.
The whole auto stop start thing is a gimmick to start with. Real world savings is nothing or almost nothing, and when you factor in the cost and R&D of the system that has already been built into the purchase price, you will probably never recoup that money with the few cents in gas money you save.
I just don't like it. Plus, I don't like the extra wear and tear on my truck. I paid for it, I would rather it didn't turn off unless I'm telling it to. Just my 2 cents, but I try to disable it on any vehicle I own. I even try to disable it in cars that I don't even drive, like my wife's car.
I can't help with the polarity question, but will say that I did a similar mod in my 4th gen truck with the Alpine system and it improved the sound quality tremendously. Replacing some of the oem speakers with aftermarket helps clear up the muddiness of the stock system. Changing the 3.5"...
Sometimes I press the button too quickly and I don't notice it didn't register. But more importantly, I would love to save myself the step of having to press the button every start up. The feature is ridiculously stupid, at least for my drives. A 45 minute commute to work, and maybe my truck...
Sounds like you have a dealership problem. I would take it to another dealership and make an appointment to have it properly addressed. My point was, making statements like "I am never buying another Ram", just sounds like childish whining and doesn't do anyone any good. If your other 5...
Why make statements like this? Sounds childish. You have a problem with your truck. Try to figure out what the problem is. If you choose never to buy a Ram again, I don't think anyone here will really care nor will the statement magically get you help.
I was driving a 5.7 hemi since 2011. It's time for something better, actually it's long overdue. I was tired of the tired 5.7L hemi. My preference would have been to stay with a V8, but an improved and more powerful one. Since that was not an option, I jumped into a 2025 with the hurricane...
If you want to get the most compensation you could go with a lemon law lawyer. They will take a percentage of what you get but you may end up with more overall.
I doubt there are any real world MPG gains. MPG's are so important to car manufacturers, I doubt they leave any mpg's at the table that can be so easily obtained with a simple tune.
Well it was my suggestion that they should offer 6.4. Wether or not they are doesn't change my opinion. Bringing back the same 5.7L is nothing to get excited about and kind of a let down. At this point, I wouldn't even consider a new truck with the 5.7L.
I thought someone posted that they might announce soon that the 6.4 is coming to the 1500? Regardless, the 6.4 was just a suggestion on my part to bring something different to the table that might draw more interest than the same old 5.7. I just purchased my 2025 last September, so for me, I...
I typically drive my truck about 25k miles a year. So I end up keeping it long after the warranty is up. I don't trust the e-torque system to not be problematic or expensive to repair down the road. If it wasn't for that, it wouldn't bother me much. And as an example, when I was picking up...
Another thing to consider about the return of the 5.7 hemi, is that it will only be available with the e-torque system. To be honest, the e-torque system is something that kept me from buying a new truck earlier. I did not want the e-torque system in my truck. So this makes the return of the...
