Typically this is caused by a short on "Reading Lamp Driver" Circuit. You need to trace it down. This circuit feeds many lights in the vehicle. Probably the hinge on the center console has damaged the wiring. Multimeter and some time will let you find the culprit location.
For the USB ports, no programming is needed, just needs power/ground and data connection for USB hubs to work. If you already have a CD player then you have the programming in the BCM for the CD player to work. You just need the console harness to have the same connectors you already have plus...
Yes, the CD player connector is a 16 pin black connector with a white back. 68438655AA has all the options so the connector is there. Still need programming to make it work in the vehicle as well as CD player only works with Uconnect 4 and not UC5.
I think the part number you're looking for is 68438655AA. (WIRING, Console : [X8S], [JKV], [JJN], [RS4], [RFX], [JPZ] AND/OR [CAH])
This has all the options available for the center console.
Sounds like your UAX module is bad. With no sound at all then I'd have that checked out. We can do a bench test on all components or just the module if you like to go that route. HD UAX should work just fine in a DT, only issue can be cargo camera and/or steering wheel controls, it shouldn't...
Just make sure its from a 1500, HD are different mounting wise and pinout wise for the center console harness. I know how to convert the 1500 to HD wiring wise but not how to mount the center console.
If you tell me your VIN and the part number of the radio (Its on the rear sticker on the radio) I can tell you what type of radio it is, what the vehicle should have came with and what you need to get built in navigation if you are interested. Feel free to DM me.
This was caused by an over the air update that's around a year old. If the update fails badly then it bricks the radio. They can be fixed but not until they release the full version of the software to the masses to reinstall the software on the radio. Dealership can only "fix" the issue by...
Does the radio keep playing when the screen goes black? If yes LCD issue or LVDS cable
Can you click on the screen and hear beeps and boops as if the screen was on? Still LCD issue or LVDS cable
When the radio goes black and the sound stops working, no function till a vehicle restart then your...
Dealerships can also download the updates via their tools. Just need a dealership to know what they are doing and willing to help. We can get updates from Uconnect's site, that's how we provide updates for the radios we sell to anyone that requests one for a radio purchased from us. We only do...
The 8.4" can be repaired so you don't have to deal with the delamination. You just have to use the correct screen that doesn't have the delamination defect in it from factory. That way once repaired the screen will never delaminate ever again. That's how we repair these units.
Your VIN only shows what you had from factory, thus the updates you get when using your VIN as reference are going to be updates for the 8.4" radio. Use the VIN from the donor vehicle to get your updates for the 12".
Blue screen while trying to view your backup camera means the radio isn't getting any video signal from the camera. This can mean the camera is dead, there is a bad connection, or the camera isn't getting the power/ground it needs to work. Hard to know for sure without swapping parts or testing...
If you don't want to splice into your wiring, we sell a wiring harness to allow you to install a cabin sensor and sun sensor into your vehicle with ease. We even have a upgraded harness coming in the next 2 months that will be plug and play on the HVAC module's two connectors to add cabin and or...
I know our units can be expensive but it does with a warranty and we do put each radio unit we sell through quality control to make sure its not a lemon. Plus you get access to our support team for any issues that could come up during install or operation. We have a few options now including...
Perform a canbus reset like @SD Rebel mentioned. This can fix many issues but if it doesn't then your radio module's AM/FM tuner may have died on you. This would stop the AM/FM from working but not stop any other audio source from working.
Do you hear anything at all on AM or FM? No sound...
Sounds like one of your BSM modules in the tail light is going bad. You can confirm by reinstalling the original mirrors, this is a pain but its what I'd do to make sure before spending time fixing or replacing anything else since you still have the mirrors. The dealership always points to...
