Is it possible to remove the fixed air dam and leave the active air dam in place and functional? My understanding is The active air dam doesn’t lower until 35 mph so it isn’t seen when the truck is sitting still. Leaving it in place would help the gas mileage at highway speeds.
I think the spring seats may be upside down. Granted, my pair of Bilstein 5100 are still in the box but those pictures look different to me. I’ll know more once I’ve had a chance to install mine but it sure looks upside down to me and that would explain the difference in height
If you will take your measurements from the center of the hub to the bottom of the fender directly above instead of from the ground you can get a measurement that is more universally helpful. Doing it this way eliminates the tire height variable. Just something to think about.
The higher you place the circlip on the shock the more lift you get. You would not use the 2 highest (the ones that give the most lift) if you have the ORP
I ordered a set of the Bilstein 5100’s for my Longhorn. Going to remove the top hat spacer I put in soon after I bought the truck. I wasn’t having any problems with the spacer and not really sure why I decided to remove it and put in the Bilstein 5100’s. I sure hope it doesn’t ruin the great...
To answer my own post, I checked a few places and the rear shocks of the Gen4 and Gen5 trucks have different part numbers. However, I don’t know what is different about the shocks. Is it the length, the way they mount or the valving?
Are our rear shocks the same as the Gen4 trucks? I am removing my top hat spacer in front and going to add the Bilstein 5100’s on position 5. I would like to upgrade the rear shocks to some with a remote reservoir but none are offered for the gen5 yet.
