Update:
I took delivery of my vehicle today from Carl over at Criswell. I had a private flight from NH to Gaithersburg MD. I'm lucky that my boss co-owns a Sesna 172 XP and was excited to fly me down. Left my house at 4:45am, met him at hanger at 5:45am, wheels up around 6am. Arrived in MD...
For mine and others with 2020s, the initial "estimated ship date" we received ended up being the actual build date at the plant. Even a ram-chat person told me that.
So I suspect your truck will be built on 9/2 (which makes sense since production doesn't start until 8/31), but might not ship...
This was the most expensive oil change I've ever done.... rolled car off ramps, slipped, and it rolled into my Weber grill that was against a wall. They sure make those Weber frames strong!
That was my question and start of confusion. My home state is NH by the way so I didn't understand why the dealer was trying to collect fees that I would be paying when I register the vehcile locally in NH anyway. This is how it was explained to me:
They have had issues were buyers actually buy...
They sent me many papers to sign & initial via FedEx, with a return envelope. Some pages were blank (Ie no traded in, no added accessories) but need to be initialed or signed.
Summary of each page:
- Vehicle Buyer Order (this is the paperwork with the actual dollars/numbers)
- Insurance...
For anyone following my posts on my purchase from Carl at Criswell:
paperwork arrived last Friday to my home. It all checked out, I was not double charged for destination, and I completed the papers and mailed them, my deposit and the auto loan check back to Criswell today.
I’ll expand on the...
I think the other part of this is deciding for yourself what you see and how happy you need to be with the finished product.
Detailers / professionals see scratches and imperfections a typical owner doesn’t. They offer their services to correct things that might not really bother you. Any paint...
Talk to your sales person. I’m pretty sure I have read on here folks able to add/delete options on trucks when already ordered, depending on build status. Since yours is a 2021 and won’t start anything for 4 more weeks I’d be really surprised if the answer was just “no”.
What is the protection...
To add to this; any 2020 that shows up for inventory now (not already sold) is in pretty high demand, because the other option for a buyer is to wait 8-10 weeks for a 2021. The 2021s won’t be hitting lots until October at the earliest I suspect, since production doesn’t start until 9/1/20. There...
I really think it is hit or miss with who you get at FCA (via chat or phone). I definitely got a good person via chat, but more often what I got was a bad person.
I found it way easier to deal with Carl at Criswell and for him to review the status. I tried not to bother him too often (maybe...
Go back and start reading this thread, maybe go back 2 months. Rebels are the least discounted. Your discount of $3.5k in general is low. But very low inventory now and dealers know it so it’s not as easy to get a good deal.
Just because you ordered it with dealer doesn’t mean they ordered it with Chrysler. Once you get it from them it will actually show order date too.
When I ordered my truck I had the VIn in a few days because they ordered it quickly after our discussions.
