I have a car hauler, and most of my tow adventures aren’t too long distance, but I do have one in the next 6-8 weeks that’ll be cross-country. So, 2 5 gallon Jerry cans will come along for the ride so I can self-rescue myself should I need too. I also noted that I have the extra cross-member...
And read up on that 12”. It’s definitely cool, but might not be worth the hassle.
I had a similar issue. Had to be a crew, had to have 6’4” bed, search results kept showing me 5’7”’s and quad cabs. I found a truck with more than I wanted, and only missed out on one thing (33 gal tank) so...
I put these is my 2019 (just cargo, don’t care about brake light) and has no issues. And again in my 2020;

Lots of cars have hemispherical cylinder heads. Several Italian care had them before Dodge tried them in the early 50’s. Dodge just got it trademarked and used it. I always imagine the 426 Hemi whenever I hear/read “hemi” which is exactly what they want..
I haven’t used amazon music on CarPlay, I’m always in apples music player, BUT it displays similar behavior. While your in motion, it limits what you can see to Playlists and recently downloaded stuff. If you want something deeper in the catalog you have to come to a stop before it’ll let you...
There are plenty of things I’ll go to the mat for, this just wasn’t one of them. I’m cool with calling it even and enjoying the new rig. I’m not waiting on anything, old truck is someone else’s problem. They’ll fix it and it’ll be THAT truck still running 45 years from now..
My first Ram didn’t have uconnect, so I was curious to see what it offered. The apps a little chunky, still looks like a number of requirements still haven’t made it to the production version, but ok, this stuff takes time. (Except this is used across FCA’s product so with millions of users...
My first truck was an early build 2019 big horn. While it was level 2, it didn’t have Uconnect and there was no way to disable the light. My 2020 has it and the light was disabled by default. Once I enabled the light, it started illuminating in the correct conditions. But it did NOT engage...
Prior to the Ram I had an early Titan and the 6 speed auto in it was brilliant at doing this. The transmission, and perhaps the engine itself, were the best things about that truck. My bighorn did this exactly once In 11,000 miles, in tow/haul mode while towing and going down a slight grade...
If you are close to southeastern PA, looking at a used 2019 Granite Crystal 4x4 Bighorn, 6’4”, level 2, chrome clad wheels, chrome tube steps, wheel liners, vent visors & 11,250+ miles on it, PM me - the last 6 digits of the vin are very easy to remember.
I ordered step rails at lunch today. I went and signed paperwork on the new truck tonight, so I had parts ordered before I even bought it! Needs tint, vent visors, debating spacers, and have a couple other ideas swirling... it’s a sickness
I hadn’t run it in at least 2 years prior to that, so, yes, way overdue!! I actually wanted to go change it while they were using it because I felt sorry for it!!!
And now for the rest of the story...
I live in a community of older homes (40’s-60’s era). All these house have varying degrees of issues, fortunately our only real problem is that the basement gets water. Not much, but enough to make you cautious. We’ve had some pretty severe weather...
And those cars were simple compared to today’s. I’d bet our rams have 30x more wire alone, nevermind all the computers and code. There must be 50-100x more things that could fail than cars had in 60s, 70’s and even 80’s..
Aseras - I don’t disagree with you at all, I may have just lucked into a way around all it. It’s not a done deal yet, but I think I have the right people doing the right thing now and I should have a clearer idea and definitive numbers later this week.. And one hell of a story.
Couple of years ago, a good friend of mine leased a new camaro 1SS, manual. Chevy locks out 2 & 3 forcing you to skip shift 1 to 4 in certain circumstances. You can buy a dongle that plugs inline on the transmission to prevent that. He never did because it was a lease, I would have ordered it...
And everyone in between. Dealer, prep guys, all of it...
Question is. Do the others do it better? There is a delivery checklist thread up top of this forum. It seems like overkill, but is it? I promise I will go over my new truck (should that happen) with a fine tooth comb.
I’m convinced most...
11,000 and 18 months on my bighorn. Until the most recent issue (still developing), I went 18 months and 11,000 miles and the only problem was some misaligned (back/side) window molding. I was out looking over the weekend (as I’m probably replacing the current truck) and sometimes the truck...
