Most people don't see the value in them (losing some bed space, having to buy special bed covers and bed accesories, etc.) and some don't want to deal with the known lid warping issue...
A bit off-topic, but I thought the 5.7 V8 Hemi didn't need a catch can (port injected, not direct injected)? Is there any benefit to using a can with a port injected engine?
I had the option but opted not to get them. I wasn't sure I'd use them much, wanted a truck specifically to haul stuff in the bed (don't want to sacrifice an inch of bed space), and I didn't want to deal with the warping lid problem.
If RAM can get the lids fixed I might consider them on my...
2019 Ram 1500 Limited 4x4 v8 eTorque 3.92
I get around 10 MPG on average but I'm only up to 500 miles so far. I'm hoping it starts going up soon (I wasn't expecting much but damn lol).
I wouldn't accept anything less than 20% if you're buying fully loaded (around $70,000 MSRP) although obviously the % discount probably varies depending on the trim.
I found tons of trucks around that discount % and a couple way lower (they sold before I could jump on them though, not sure if...
I made that mistake on an old car a while back. I was able to get 2 off with some pliers. The other 2 I had to cut off with a small dremel cutting wheel. I accidentally cut into the threads/stem on 1 tire and had to have the entire stem replaced. Not making that mistake ever again lol.
UC5 uses a different OS and requires much better hardware. I've had previous FCA vehicles and I've never seen them roll out upgrades to older vehicles. I'm afraid if you bought the truck with UC4 then that's what it'll have forever. You could probably take a UC5 unit off a wrecked 2021 Ram 1500...
Yeah, my friend's GMC shows much more info (like brake pad life, tire pressure, etc.) and seems to work much faster/more consistently.
When I try to use the app for remote start, half the time it fails, the other half it takes a full minute or so to actually send the start signal.
I've not had any issues but I have eTorque which assists the battery as far as I know. Maybe it's a known issue and is why Ram requires the eTorque on 2020 models (or maybe that's just for EPA)?
Apologies if a thread like this already exists. I decided to go digging to see if I could find any TSBs on common issues I see posts about and below is a list of what I've found (I've bolded key words in some of the less specific ones).
The customer may describe popping or cracking noises...
Just saw this comment on a YouTube video. Can anyone confirm if the replacement windows are slightly different than the original windows (or if the 2019 windows are indeed different than the 2020 windows)?
I feel like a lot of people like the 3.92 for that 0-30 towing gear. It gives you better acceleration off the line which makes the truck drive a bit more sporty. That may be why some people call the 3.21 "slow" or "sluggish" (even though there isn't THAT much difference).
I have cracks on both sides of the slider now (just a few days ago it was only on one side, I even have a "before" picture). Will take an "after" picture once lighting is better. No water ingress from the rain yet. Tempted to do a leak test with a water hose but I don't know if I want to push it...
I guess that brings up the question of what is even causing the crack to begin with? Is the cab shifting/twisting and putting stress on that area? Whatever is causing the crack may also be (eventually) damaging the sealant leading to the leak into the crack as you say. Otherwise we would have to...
If disconnecting the weights + disabling MDS fixes the problem, then you could just unplug them and buy a Pulsar to permanently disable MDS (or whatever other product lets you do the same). Sad that you have to do something like that when a software update could probably fix the issue though.
