I'll try to get some videos later this week, but if you want to check out some videos now, search for Hammerdown motorsports on YouTube. He has a few videos with the sound.
Removed my Borla touring and installed the AWE 0FG this afternoon. Install took me a good 2 hours, but I was taking my time, and also kept on misplacing my tools every time I went to get a part to install. Probably spent more time crawling under and back out from my truck than it did to...
Removed my Borla Touring and installed the AWE 0FG exhaust today. Sounds pretty good. Mean growl at start up and then nice and deep at idle. Full throttle sounds pretty good. I was actually surprised the AWE is actually quieter than the Borla Touring, at least in the cabin. You can still...
Try looking for videos for the 5th gen. That video is for the 4th gen and for some reason the touring is much quieter on them. That video is not accurate at all for the 5th gen in terms of sound. The Borla sounds really good, but you might be surprised on how loud it actually is. I'm only...
I currently have the borla touring and it's more than a tad more aggressive than stock. Cold starts are pretty loud and you can really hear it in the cab under any acceleration. Slight rumble once you get to cruising speed. From what I gather all 3 of the borla are near the same loudness but...
I just pulled the trigger on the AWE and will be returning the Borla. Big props to borla with their customer service. If I ever need it, hope AWE has just as good service.
Hopefully I'm not disappointed in the sound, but don't think I will. Main concern was it being too loud for my wife, but...
Thanks for the info.
Sounds like the AWE might be pretty comparable to the Borla Touring in terms of volume. My wife can hear my truck start up in our bedroom which is on the opposite side of the house where I park.
My main gripe about the Borla is the fitment. The passenger side fits like...
I have the touring as well and noticed that 'backfire' type sound sometimes when letting off the gas at cruising speed. I bypass the MDS using the gear selector so I don't get that farting noise.
I'm debating on changing over to AWE but concerned it could be too loud, but in my opinion the...
Sorry, I have a few more questions.
Would you say the AWE is quieter in the cabin versus the Borla?
What about cold starts? Look for something that is not obnoxious.
I have 3.92 gears as well. You mentioned at 2k or so it's pretty quiet. How does it compare to the borla at those RPMs...
Thanks. I may go to the Awe of I can get a discount code on it. Seems like install should be easier than the Borla since it has more adjustability and can lock the hangers in place with collars. The borla is a pain to center the tips and keep them there.
I've got a rattle or vibration that seems to be coming from the front passenger side that I'm trying to track down. The bass from the radio makes it vibrate and it's annoying. Other than that it's pretty quiet inside, especially compared to my wife's Crosstrek.
I'm am not a vet so that won't apply for me. Touring sounds pretty good. Definitely pretty loud on startup and can hear slight rumble at cruising speed. Pretty loud when you stomp the pedal. You can also tell when MDS kicks in with a tone change, but I always deactivate it with the gear...
I recently installed the touring and it's definitely louder than stock. It's actually louder than I thought, but sounds really good. You can definitely hear it in the cab when accelerating but once you get to cruising speed it's not that noticable. There is a very slight rumble.
My neighbors...
I wish I could hear the AWE in person and compare it to the Borla Touring. I'm a bit concerned the AWE is going to be too loud for me, however, the touring is much louder than I thought, so maybe they are similar in terms of volume.
Sorry, I am not. I'm holding on to it, just in case I decide to go back to stock in future. Plan on getting a camper at some point, so if the Borla ends up being too loud for towing, I may switch back.
