I received a Mopar touch up paint for my new Laramie. Not sure how many dealers do this, but this is a very nice customer follow-up.
Don’s Auto Clinic in Cadillac MI goes the extra in customer service, before the sale and after. [emoji1303]
It is of course in their own best interests to maintain a proprietary income stream.
The introduction of electronics into the major systems 1) improved performance and reliability, while lowering overall maintenance costs, and 2) froze out independent shops and the DIY owner.
There’s no going...
The MDS on my 2019 Laramie is mostly unnoticed going in and out. I activated the Eco indicator from the Uconnect Options screen to know for sure.
At a steady cruising 50 mph on flat terrain, I see about 20 plus instant MPG: With MDS it jumps to 40 plus.
My unscientific experiment suggests real...
I’m sure this’ll be an “aha” answer.
Where is the radio antenna on the Laramie 8.4?
I don’t see an imbedded antenna. My 2017 Sport had a traditional whip antenna.
Just curious...
I found this TruckTrend article on the aerodynamic comparisons between open bed (tailgate up or down), tonneau cover, and full cap.
Their tests held it didn’t matter whether tailgate was up or down.
On the main question, their testing concluded a tonneau and cap offer a similar quantifiable...
I agree driving style does have most influence on MPG.
My understanding is that in spite of the added weight, a cap does smooth air flow over the vehicle compared to an open bed. Even a tonneau cover is an improvement overall.
The dirty rear is evidence of back draft which, while still...
2019 DT Laramie Crew 4x4 Sport Package; Hemi without eTorque and 3.21 rear. 1/19 build, took delivery 22 Feb, about 2k miles.
No problems, recalls or dealer visits so far. I’ve avoided the several issues being discussed. Very happy with the truck, and a step up from my 2017 V6 Crew Sport...
FYI, the Rear Under-seat Compartment Storage came as a factory $125 optional equipment on my 5th gen 2019 Laramie Sport with Level 1. And yes, it does work with the Laramie’s standard reclining rear seats.
The only MPG increase from higher octane would be if the ignition timing is routinely retarded to avoid ping/pre-ignition, such as when towing.
Then, a higher octane (resistance to detonation) would allow more timing advance, which all else equal, is more efficient.
If the ignition is using...
I also find this an irritating characteristic. The “dimmer” control is essentially binary; either full on or just about off.
Would really like to see this addressed.
