Yeah, Stellantis has really cracked down on tunes over the years. I get why, but sucks for those who are just doing minor tweaks. You can always just buy a spare ecm and put the tune on that. If you have any issues drop the stock one back in. A tune won't completely void warranty but could...
You can add an optical out port to a pac amp pro. This will take digital signal direct to dsp, bypassing a D/A conversion. I run a coaxial directly from my topping (bypassing horrible DACs in oem hu) and optical from hu for less critical listening.
Unfortunately that's the nature of the beast. A tune totally changes that but if not going that route I'd recommend a throttle controller. This will at least remove the lag from the drive by wire setup.
Length depends on where amps are mounted and how you are routing rca's. You need 1 rca per channel. Sub depends on how you route signal from dsp. You can sum l/r and connect via y cable or run rca for each channel. I run 8 total rcas for 3 way front plus sub.
Yeah, I had planned on cutting some slits in the mlv before installing seat. I did that once before as well lol. I'm going to place another layer of ccf over the whole panel as well.
I would take that info with a grain of salt also. I have seen trucks literally stop in the middle of the process and get held up for weeks at a time. Those time frames are best case scenario.
Having dealt with many different dealers, Toyota is most definitely #1 when it comes to taking care of their customers. Subaru is another mfg that goes out of their way to assist. Everyone else looks for every possible reason not to cover repairs, and it's left to the dealer to fight for the...
I'd rather drive a Ram with issues than a Tunda without. :D
I'm on something like Ram #7, and they have all been pretty solid (except for aforementioned QC complaints). Now I don't keep my trucks for hundreds of thousands of miles either, but the average trade cycle in the US is around 4...
There is no doubt Toyota has been more reliable than Ram overall. I think the most recent report shows Toyota up and Ram down regarding issues. I think a lot of the Ram issues we see are nitpicky things. There is a lot more technology packed into these trucks, with more potential gremlins. My...
You've obviously never walked through a Toyota service dept. ;)
Umm, Ram also sales exponentially more trucks than Toyota. Toyota averages, what, 100k sales per year. Ram total truck sales are around 400k? More trucks = more complaints, plain and simple.
Toyota does "show" better payload, but...
Passive is also holding you back a bit. Different installs require different crossover settings. A tweeter mounted directly next to a mid will be crossed differently than a tweeter in sail with mid in dash. Passive xovers have set filters that are a one size fits all. A lot of time the slope...
90% of all installers utilize the factory wires. Pulling wires through the door is time consuming and expensive. 18ga is sufficient in most cases.
The pac ch41r2, or ch42, with the harness extention I linked would allow you to add amp now and sub later. If adding an amp I'd seriously consider...
This^
We have customers come in all the time that want to argue about options that show on the Ram site that clearly aren't correct. The dealer order page is as accurate as you'll get. Just have them pull up a build and they'll be able to quickly tell you what's currently available.
With the PAC bypass and wire extension harness; it's pretty foolproof to add speakers/subs. The LPH harness extends the factory location wiring to the back of the cab where you can mount an amp. There is no running wire to any speaker locations, and no hacking or cutting harnesses. The CH41/42...
100%. A 3 way front setup done right sounds killer in these Ram trucks. Rear fill can provide some additional cues for envelopment, if done correctly; but most of the time it just makes a mess of imaging/soundstage. I get running something possibly for back passengers, but I could care less...
Most vehicles I have purchased in the past, I opted for the base audio system, knowing I was going to upgrade it anyways. I ended up with HK in my Laramie just due to it being part of the package (which I swapped out immediately lol).
