Spring of 2020: to Fort Wilderness 1400 mile round trip
Summer 2020: to NH and Maine 2600 mile round trip
Need some good advice on places to stay along 81 and 88. Will stop in SW VA and again somewhere near Scranton PA. Scranton doesn't seem to offer many RV parks near the interstate.
yep, a complete mess 3 times into it. Typically refilling to about 6.5 to 7qts. Using penzoil platinum 0w-20 with orange fram oil filters... 5k OCI so far
I tow a 26ft TT with a bone stock truck with no sway issues. My current WDH is an Equalizer #10k setup. I ran a 10k eaz lift with our 2500 and 30ft TT with no issues. Having said that, I think that i could have towed the 30ft TT with the 2500 without the sway bar, that truck was so stable. IMO...
Also looking for dyno results.I dont care about looks or sounds...just the numbers. Since I tow with my truck, I'm interested if the hp/torque curves increase and shift to the left. If the CAI increases hp/torque higher in the powerband that doesn't help me. I already have a peaky hemi why make...
More importantly, the the torque curve is flat with 400+ ft-lbs available at 1500 rpm. The 7.3 should be a very good truck towing/rv application (replacing the v10)/commercial engine. Sign me up for a Cummins 6.7 any day though...
I think thats typical of Dodge/Ram trucks, unless you buy a 6.7 heavy duty. Ram offers really good (imo) initial value. Long (ish) term the value position inverts, based on my experience. After 2 years of ownership and 47K, I traded my 17 2500 CTD for 6K less than I paid for it ($43K new). So...
Is this the exhaust drone that is referenced in a later post? I took mine in to the dealer and they reflashed the truck. No drone for a couple of hundred miles, now its back. Not happy with the drone...
The concern that I would have would be with the TT length, depending on where you plan on camping. At 31ft a TT is a pretty big sail that tends to push a 1/2 truck around on the interstates (semis, other rvs, etc). We tow in all kinds of weather (windy days, tstorms, hurricanes...) so...
Update: increased the tire pressure from 36psi to 40psi. Felt much more stable, didnt feel the need to go to max pressure (44psi). 500 mile (round trip) pull coming up in 2 weeks, we'll see how much the mileage improves with the tire pressure increase.
Dropped the trailer on the scale today...850#. That is essentially how we brought it home, not packed yet. Advertised dry hitch weight is 709#.... Add another 100# for the WD hitch, it starts to add up quickly.
Just developed (@7500 miles) a shutter/harmonics at 1300rpm, ~20mph only in eco mode. Engaged tow/haul mode and it immediately went away. Anyone else run into this issue?
I would think that the Equilizer hitch would be sufficient, properly setup. The Hensley/Porprides are nice but expensive and heavy (esp. for a 1500 with limited payload).
