Can anyone explain how the process of the Build & Price on Ram's website works? Do they shop dealers to find one in that spec, or do they essentially build the truck specifically for you? The reason I ask is I'm looking for what seems to be a rare color/option combo (Rugged Brown crew with a 12"...
Thanks for sharing! That's a beautiful truck- it looks like you take care of her. Can you touch on any of the issues around the Rambox? Does it hinder the opening of the boxes exponentially?
I reached out to Retrax on Tuesday about the issues everyone is having and I'll share that conversation...
Thanks for the info! I don't know the rebate and discount numbers, but I just e-mailed to get that. I'm clearly new to the numbers game. I'm thinking I'll tell them $34,500 before TTT, only if they throw in a hard bed cover and Line-X the bed.
True, but then again you have to think that Carplay lives on your phone, not on the vehicle's entertainment system. So theoretically, Apple should be able to have Carplay detect the screen size and adjust accordingly.
This might become a reality! iOS 13's update for Carplay is expected to introduce the ability to adapt to larger screens. i.e. maaaaybe we could get full screen nav? Long shot, but hey I'm a dreamer.
I looooooove the rugged brown color! That's a helluva deal too.
*Edit*
I also want to present the current deal I'm considering:
Rugged Brown 1500 Big Horn 4x4 5'7", with Rambox
8.4" Screen, middle console. Level 1 Equipment Group. Honestly no notable frills beyond that.
MSRP: $48,350...
I wish it were that easy! In my Silverado now, I always seem to be tinkering with my head unit for Carplay, music, nav, etc. But you're definitely correct in saying that the 8.4" has everything I would need in tech.
I appreciate the input! The 12" screen really has the 'wow' factor, and I love the split screen concept. It will be exciting to see how Apple's Carplay update will be now that they are adding the ability to adapt to larger screens. But then again, this might be something RAM will have to enable...
This might sound weird to some, but I'm torn between the 12" screen (with a fold down console) or a center console (with an 8.4" screen) for my *hopefully* future Ram 1500. I'd love to say I could afford both, but both seem to put me in a truck price I wouldn't be comfortable with. Comparing the...
Sounds to me like Retrax needs to get their s*** together. They make a good product for most, but are seriously failing in the '19 Rambox department.
All in all, it sounds like they are fully aware of the issue and are blatantly ignoring to improve their product. Looks like for now I'll be...
