UPDATE*****
Picked up the truck from the dealer. Apparently when the update was done it changed which USB ports will activate Carplay when you plug in your phone. In my truck there are two ports on the lower dash panel & two on the back side of the center console. One of the ports on the back of...
Response from corporate customer service:
1. Make sure that CarPlay is supported on your vehicle or Uconnect® system. Dumb response since I told them it worked before the upgrade!
2. Plug your iPhone into the CarPlay USB port using an Apple certified cord. If the CarPlay Home screen doesn’t...
I saw a message on my screen asking me if I wanted to do the update today (Saturday the 27th) or in a few hours. I said now and after a while I got another message telling me the update was complete. Prior to the update my phone had no problems using Carplay. After the update the Carplay icon...
So many Ford (and other cars) trucks get stolen because people leave the fob inside and its easy to clone it. 80% of the vehicles made today are susceptible to cloning. Its really not that big a deal to carry the key. A cell phone is much bigger to lug around than a fob. I always thought the...
Honestly its a thin clearcoat. A good body shop can fix them so they dont chip. They just need some extra coats of clearcoat and some extra hardner in the mix. I doubt the dealer will do anything about it.
I did not check the version at the time so I dont know what release was affected but I can tell you that my friend has a 2020 Chevy Silverado and it also had the same issues with Carplay until the update was sent out
Yeah and the first one screwed up Carplay. They have since fixed that bug but last week after the update my phone would continuously go off and on along with Carplay. Nothing on Carplay was stable last week and nothing would stay on the screen like Waze or Google maps.
In addition to your problem the seal around the door can freeze up and may simulate this problem so others shouldn't think you have a cable issue just because the door is frozen shut.
Welcome to the Ram family. I would not attempt to hide the fob. The truck doesn't want to be locked if the fob is inside anyway so just pull out the hard key from one of your fobs and get one cut so you can manually unlock the door with just the key. The truck may alarm if you do this but if by...
I had this happen on my 2012 Cadillac SRX. There was a lawsuit and GM agreed to replace both headlight assemblies. Since they were the adaptive versions the cost was about 3k out of my pocket then GM took their time and sent me my money about 3 months later.
The big limitation is the fact that the rear lights are a sealed unit and you cant just upgrade the bulb to get a brighter backup light. Your choices are pretty limited at this time. Maybe there will be an after market tail light replacement that can be a plug in upgrade. I haven't seen one yet...
I think the key here is that anything that stops rocks from chipping the paint will contribute to less chance of rusting in the exposed wheel house and bed area is better than just letting those metal areas take the abuse. In my opinion it will help preserve the value of the truck.
Every so often my truck makes what I call a grunt sound when turning the wheel. Its random and is fairly loud lasting about a second or two.
Anyone have this condition or have it looked at? What was the result?
Its very intermittent and I am unable to consistently repeat it so I know the...
One thing many dont realize or know about batteries is that they are not very tolerant of vibration or being handled roughly. If a clerk in Wally world slings them on the rack, drops them or anything like that they can instantly become a problem. You can very easily ruin a battery by...
Most aftermarket car batteries sold in the U.S. are made by three companies that build them for retailers: Johnson Controls, which supplies more than half of the market; Exide; and East Penn
