There are many threads here on the gas fill issue. Some people including me had to have the tank replaced because Ram did a re-design, they were having so many issues with it.
This time the passenger side broke. I bought the Chinese version of the repair kit and installed it today. It works fine and was pretty easy to install with an extra pair of hands to help hold the visor while you get it all lined up to get the screws in.
Yesterday the passenger side broke. This is about as useless a design as you could possibly produce. Did they really think that cheap plastic would hold up? Used the ebay cheap chinese plastic ones for now. They seem to be strong enough to support the hinge.
Its possible but doubtful since these companies cannot control what the products are used for. They don't know if it's for an existing new car mod or a crate engine in a project car that's exempt from emission and other restrictions. Another example is that things like transmission tunes don't...
Just take the brake light assembly out and use clear silicone and the same for the fin. You won't regret it speaking as someone who had to get the RF hub, rear window and brake light assembly replaced.
There is no redundancy if the hub fails. Once it's gone you are screwed. Not only is it a bad design with no redundancy but who are the geniuses that thought placement of such a critical part below a rear sliding window that if you forget and leave it open in a rainstorm kills your vehicle.
I agree and this philosophical decision they made causes the problem that will eventually doom them. The point is that they would make money on the deals they make with the aftermarket companies. In essence the money would come from the aftermarket companies instead of direct sales to their end...
Yeah I know this, but my point is if they want to make some money open it up and start making deals with aftermarket suppliers. What was done in the past doesn't mean it was the right decision then or now.
You are 100% right on the aftermarket. Dodge cannot compete with the ease of use of the LS's and its mostly because of the locked code. It's just dumb and it looks like a typical Stellantis decision that less is ok. I got news for them, less is LESS and they will run this company out of...
Many insurance companies include a glass rider that covers window replacement so you might want to check into that. This way you don't depend on the dealer to recognize it as being defective/damaged and on top of that with insurance you can choose who does the replacement. Thats how I got my...
As far as I know there's only one active Carplay port. Initially when i got the truck it was behind the console then they did an upgrade it stopped working. What I found out was it didn't stop working, it just moved and if I didn't find that out by sheer luck of moving the cord to the front and...
I think this is one place that Ram has big quality issues. Parked my truck one night it was maybe 20 degrees and the next morning the windshield had a huge crack almost going across the entire window. It had not had any rock strikes or apparent flaws so all I can assume is that it was a...
UPDATE**** The dealer called and let me know that the RF unit behind the seats is fried as a result of a leaky window frame. The gasket on the third brake light is also leaky according to them. There was no water apparent to me but I have no reason to doubt the dealer since they are very...
