Mine should keep the rake - clayton makes 2.5" coils that should give you ~.25" rake. Other people on this site have the same setup if you search for clayton coils. part number is below, they are for a Jeep Gladiator, prob why you couldn't find them.
SKU:COR-1510351
I just ordered rough country 3.5" struts, their ucas, and rear v2 shocks (ordered separately, not the kit). adding clayton 3.5" coils to the rear. Total cost of this setup is ~1300. I've had spacer lifts in the past, and no matter what people say, the ride is worse, and gets worse over time...
I wouldn't worry about new shocks with a 1-2" lift unless you go off-roading, and more specifically off-roading where you need a lot of articulation, not just mud or dirt roads.
Even then, you're probably not going to ruin your shocks. Personally I wouldn't waste the money for the sole reason...
I ordered the elocker and protection group, which basically costs the same as the ORG, but whatever options I had wouldn't let me order the ORG (southwest edition maybe, not sure)
For the price the ORG is a very good deal, and unless youre in a scenario like mine where you couldn't get it, i'd...
Any pics? Are you level or is there any rake?
I'm thinking of doing the same kit but like the rake, so not sure if I should go with the 2.5 or 3.5 claytons.
How is the handling compared to stock?
Interesting. I've never owned a LSD, only lockers or open. I have a rubi and the elockers are great, but it only gets driven on roads to and from trails. Mine's a 2010 though, so pretty much absent of any electronics outside of the crappy traction control and a radio.
I would also say go with the 3.92s and Etorque. having been in pure gas cars that shut down at stoplights, there's always a lag between engine start up and driving away, etorque gets rid of that lag.
Also, if you get 2mpg better with 3.21s, over 12,000 miles at $3.50/gallon, you're spending...
Curious how a limited slip diff would be better on road...as in what scenario? Not disagreeing, I'm actually curious since my understanding is that the traction control in these trucks limits wheel spin by braking as needed, similar to the quadra-drive 2 (or quadratrack, i forget) in Jeeps. I...
in a bubble, with no other changed variables that would be true, however in real life you would be fighting decreased aerodynamics, heavier (more rotational mass), potentially more friction if you have a wider tire/bigger contact patch.
I get how the math works for "effective gear ratio", but...
Other cars definitely are not as blacked out as Ram's, specifically most German cars you still get some light through the shade. Put ceramic tint on it.
Pano roof is awesome, even for me living in CO. Shade is shut 95% of the time, but drive a car with one and you won't have one without
Read a bunch, still can't find the answer. I ordered 35x12.5r20 tires after getting in a 33 and it looking too tiny. Can I fit them on a 2.5" lift? I have a 21 Laramie non-org. Stock 20s, which I plan on keeping and adding 1.5" spacers.
Preferred route: Going with 5100s and going to order...
Ordered 275/65/20 tires, and thinking I might need a 1" lift on my Non-ORG 2021 Laramie, non air-ride. Anyone know the most cost-effective option? I can't find any take-offs locally (Denver). I'm open to options outside of stock take-offs, but wanting to be cost effective. I can buy rear ORG...
A fair amount at 90, not all of it, or even most, but enough to make a difference. Again, on the trip computer. Whether or not that's close to hand calc'd, who knows.
I do understand gear ratios so I'm not going to defend 3.92s and mpg, but i will say for a round trip like that, it depends on...
I have 3.92s and got 20mpgs on a 1600 mile round trip from Denver to AZ and back, with a RTT over the bed, a fair amount was close to 90 mph. Not hand calc'd, just the trip calculator.
Gotta say, mpgs are better than my Jeep GC, which had 32s but that was it (no lift), at least trip computer...
