I hate to hear it. Mine was leaking without a visible crack in the frame. There are a lot of posts on the forums you can use to research the issue. Thankfully mine is just a year old and was covered under warranty.
The dealer had my truck for 5 weeks. First they replaced the 3rd brake...
******UPDATE******
I have another leak. I came out to the truck today during the rain and all interior windows were fogged. I guess I have to start this process over again. 21,000 miles and a year and a half old or so.
For those of you who have owned a Ram with a leak at the back window...
Agree. My truck shouldn't moan so loud that it wakes the neighbors when I back out of the driveway. I've driven 20 year old beaters that didn't make the noises this truck makes.
I found the leak on my truck by looking very closely at the glass. When the water seeps in from outside it brings dirt with it, and when the water dries, a small dirt trail is left behind.
Look very closely at all of your windows. Also, if you have a sunroof, that may also be the source of...
You have a leak. My truck has been in the shop for the last three weeks as they tried and failed to fix it, then really looked at it and discovered that the whole back window must be replaced. I imagine I'll have been without my truck for just over a month before they get it back to me.
I...
In wonder if the electric version will come with a leaky rear window like my gas version? Going on week three with my truck in the shop, and it's kind of funny to see the announcements about latest greatest tech, when Ram fails at getting even the simple stuff right...like windows.
At least...
It's been a while since I heard that. Way back in 2010 I bought a current year model Chevy 1500 from Carmax that had only 5,000 miles on it. During the 7 day period where you can take it back, I made a point to take it on some trips to see how it would do. I was driving down the highway to...
Thanks for the heads up on the brakes. Mine usually does it when it's cold, and while it's not a big deal in isolation, it becomes a bigger deal when it wakes the neighbors when I back out of my driveway. :ROFLMAO:
I guess I'll have to do some research on the rear window issues. If it looks...
Here's a quick update on the progress to date. Both local dealers told me there was a 3 week wait, and that I'd have to drop my truck with them and leave it the entire time. One eventually told me that since mine is a fairly new truck, just over a year old, and with low miles, that they'd try...
Oh, yeah, I was joking about that. I'll drop it off and get an estimate on time line from them, then decide if I need to beg, borrow, or steal to get a ride while it's in the shop.
I just hope someday I can own a truck that doesn't leak...but I'm running out of time. My old F150 had more water run through it than the Mississippi River. I thought the Ram was my answer, but now its doing the same.
Its been a little over a year now with my 21 Rebel, and to date I've got:
- Water leaking into the back of the cab
- A hood that holds water and sloshes
- A nav system that no longer works
- Brakes that moan in reverse when its wet
I'll drop it off at the dealer soon, and will have to wait...
Mine will only get 22 MPG if I drive 40 MPH for a long time on a flat road with no stop lights. Essentially, it will never get 22 MPG under any realistic circumstance. It's a lifted truck with big tires, it's not going to get great mileage.
Here's what I get at various cruising speeds on the...
This is a post COVID problem. Go do a search for this type of thing on the forum, adjusting your search date to pre-December 2019. You're not going to find many posts where people say dealers won't take their trucks, or demand they be left for weeks.
The powers-that-be shut down the economy...
Have you driven a power wagon yet? I wanted one quite badly until I actually drove it. The cab is a bit smaller than that on the Rebel, so anytime I took my left hand off the wheel and put it on my leg, my elbow hit the door frame. It seems like the cab isn't as wide, so the door is a few...
From the owners manual:
"In cold weather, use of Recirculation mode may lead to excessive window fogging. The recirculation feature may be unavailable if conditions exist that could create fogging on the inside of the windshield."
Wait a few months. One of two things should happen in the next 12 to 18 months: inflation will come down (already happening in goods as per CPI) and/or the Fed will cause a recession by tightening too much.
In either of those scenarios you'll be seeing things cheaper than you see them today...
