"he 3.92 helps to stop and manage any weight with push back the 3.21 will have significantly less. "
I found this interesting and don't understand. Could someone give a bit more info on why this is so?
Thanks in advance for taking your time to educate me.
This is the first vehicle I have owned that the cylinder deactivation stays on during very mild accel and slight grades.
The literature says this is one advantage of the etorque,: etorque engages and allows the cylinder deactivation to stay engaged a bit longer.
Just took a drive into town. Now that it is going into cylinder deactivation, I am really surprised how much the truck stays in "eco" mode. It even stays in "Eco" during very mild acceleration and slight grades. Nice fuel economy boost.
I watched a video interview with an automotive engineer on this topic. His thoughts were there would be very little difference in the city and maybe a 1 MPG hit at highway speeds with higher ratio rears.
Just me talking here now (so take it for what it is worth), I suspect the vehicle could...
Hi,
My 'econ" mode just started kicking in yesterday. As I get some miles on it, I will report if there is any noticeable improvement in mileage.
While I have never read this, it makes good sense that cylinder deactivation would not kick in till the engine has gone thru a break in period...
When I first got the truck, I enabled the indicate economy mode in the operating system. For the first 500 miles, I never saw the Econ light come on. Just today it came on and then began to come on often.. When it was on, I notices a very slight vibration from the cylinder deactivation.
Do you...
Hi Team,
Reading thru the posts on improperly installed grommets for sunroof drains causing water problems got me thinking. We live in an area with very heavy tree cover. Lots of leaves, pine needles and other "organic" matter always getting on the truck. It is only a matter of time till the...
Given the TFL Truck video, I suspect Ram will be all over this issue.
After watching that video, why would anyone spend the extra cash for an etorque?
Interesting here is what motortrend had to say in the Truck of the Year article:
"Our Real MPG testing of the V-8 models generally falls...
The expiring Lifetime Warranty is why we decided not to wait/order and began searching dealer stock. We found one that meets our requirements about 2 hours from our house.
Had the Lifetime Warranty not been going away, we would have waited a few months to order.
Not sure I would have...
For us it was easy. Last two vehicles we had for 13ish years. One was a Toyota and on a Honda. Both very reliable brands. During the second 100K miles each, the reapirs cost us much more than the $2990 cost of the Lifetime Warranty. Plus we are entering retirement and limiting surprise...
Hi Team,
Does anyone know of a way to change the Off Road Package's Air suspension bias/lift of +1" inch (4 level) operation to the stock of no bias/lift (5 level) operation?
On my Long Horn, with the +1 inch of bias (lift), I only have 4 Air Suspension heights to chose from. I would rather...
If you plan to keep it for the long run, r $2990 for a Forever Warranty on a $60K tech laden truck seems like one heck of a deal!
Plus it provides rental car, Key fob replacement, jump starts, gas, etc. and hotel/meals for trip interruptions. Of course all of these have limits but still a good...
Completed the purchase of our Ram this evening. I asked the Finance guy what their price was for the Forever warranty. The Finance guy found it strange, the pull-down window offered every warranty option except the Forever Plan. He eventually asked the manager who came in and could not get...
