Hmmm... By the "poor edition" do you mean you got a Nissan Titan?
I accidently rented a basic RAM, fell in love with it and ended up ordering my own a few months later. I have no self-control so I checked lots of option boxes, but they don't make the truck fundamentally better.
Enjoy your Ram!
My door got a parking lot dent when it was 3 months old. After the dent was pulled out, the paint mar was similar to some of your pictures. The body shop made it look perfect by repainting the area. Two years later it still looks perfect.
I was super impressed by the skill of the paint technician.
Thanks for the tip about the funnel! Had my truck for 1.5 years and never knew it was there. Good thing I never ran out of gas....
Only took about 6 months for me to discover the buttons on the back of the steering wheel.
Jeeps are great. I've had multiple models as rental cars and greatly enjoyed them every time. But I love my RAM and have zero regrets. It's an incredibly versatile machine and super comfortable on long drives.
Welcome aboard!
Congratulations! You really persevered thru this ordeal, fighting thru obstacle after obstacle, mixing calm steadfastness with an occasioanal round of "You ARE going to do what's right." Quite a lesson in how to handle butt-headed people without lowering yourself to their level. Thanks for...
I'm just one year ahead of you. My 2021 RAM 1500 is the first truck I've owned. My wife thought I was kidding/delusional/going-thru-a-phase when I came home one day and said that I was going to sell the Porsche and buy a full sized RAM. When I finally brought it home, she was a little...
I'm glad this worked out for you. Bummer that you needed to expend so much effort.
Regarding the OEM part... I pay $63/year extra in my policy (AAA Insurance) to explicitly require OEM parts. Not sure if other insurance companies offer a similar coverage option.
Oil change is a competitive business. Dealer probably charges a reasonable price here so not to scare people off. Same for tire rotation. But DEF and draining water from fuel isn't on all cars. So easy for the dealer to markup 10X and slip it in since many people don't know what is...
Beautiful truck SnowBlaZR2. Your care & attention to detail really shows.
Question for you: What are your thoughts for using distilled water on the paint? What does this improve over plain tap water available on the road?
I believe if you buy a 2020 or 2021 you may be able to purchase a service contract from Stellantis. I would view this as insurance that the truck doesn't have excess problems.
Worth checking with one of the better CDRJ dealers mentioned on this site to see whether vehicle is eligible and how much.
Sorry to hear that you are still having trouble. Two thoughts:
I remember that some people were having trouble because their air suspension was misbehaving and running their battery down. Might be worth searching this forum for that thread.
While the dealer should cheerfully diagnose this...
I concur with all your posts that the truck shouldn't be designed to need aftermarket gizmos just to be able to start. And your dealer's response was miserable.
I had heard of other high end cars (Cadillac, Vette, Mercedes, BMW) with similar behavior. Maybe all the manufacturers agreed that its...
I have a 2021 eTorque Limited Longhorn, similar to yours (mine has the 6 cylinder gas). I park outside with a solar charger hooked up to the 12V outlet at the top of the dashboard. I'm hoping this keeps my battery charged so I can avoid the dreaded dead battery syndrome. Right now, it's just a...
