Mine was wonky when I first got my truck too. Couple shots of WD40 on the latches and normal usage now it’s working perfect. I think the latches stick bit if not used for a long period. You could hear the actuators working but it wouldn’t release. Lubed up the latches and good to go

Its been working exactly as the oem setup does minus the switch on the drivers side light does not work. No big deal. The lights come on when the tailgate is down anyway so I don’t believe I’d use the switch anyway. I dont have have pictures of the wiring but if you follow the guide I posted...

Thanks Laura but I’m in canada so there isn’t much you can do unless things have changed. If a a fix is found I don’t mind applyping it myself. Although my dealership is awesome when it comes to customer service
