While I of course love the outcome, two things that weren't well discussed that make me wonder a bit:
1. What happened to reporting the trans and oil Temps? When they did the Rebel towing test the oil got very hot, and it would have been good to know what they were since the Hemi was...
I drove them back to back and tend to agree. I ended up buying an air suspension model though because I do tow a camper, and the truck I found that had the config I wanted had it. It certainly was not a must have though.
Two five gallon cans at Walmart as emergency back up is going to be waaaay cheaper. Unless you regularly travel some desolate route without services for hundreds of miles on a regular basis.
80 mile trip last night. This time I actually had some highway, but I kept it under 60MPH. The result was 19.72 MPG.
I've concluded I can achieve the realistic EPA numbers for a Rebel. Driving to achieve them is an absolute chore, and from here on out I'm not looking at MPG any longer and...
I'll throw my hat in the MPG ring. Yesterday I did a 62 mile drive. No major hills, just rolling ones. Some stops on the way. The entire route was 55 MPH maximum, with a bunch of 35 MPH zones. Myself and my family and a half tank (33 gal) of gas. I drove it in total "granny" mode, as easy...
I wonder if the charging circuitry is part of the battery unit itself. I would think so, since Lithium ion batteries need to be monitored for heat. If I'm correct, there's then two points of possible charging failure, the battery and the MGU. I would hope the MGU is a simpler piece of tech...
4 3/8" plastic plugs from hardware store - $1.60.
Rattle can primer and silver paint - I had in stock.
The results exceeded my expectations. It's ridiculous to think there is a company selling 4 similar plugs for over $70!
Unfortunately it looks to me like the eTorque system does not know how to report issues well, and the techs are at the mercy of the system.
I initially thought of this like if a vehicle came in with a dead battery. You would always check the alternator to see if the alternator was bad. This...
My latest weekly health report informed me via the "upcoming maintenance" section that it'll be time soon for a new battery! I guess they have bugs in the home systems too. :)
Is the rest of the truck fine? If so, I wouldn't worry about what's in the bed, assuming you're going to get a bedliner. One thing is for sure though, I'd be skeptical about anything else that dealer says!
Extended warranties are insurance for your vehicle. Like insurance, they are priced based on the expected payouts over the life of the warranty. The insurer has carefully calculated this and has priced the warranty such that in aggregate, they should pay out less than they take in. You can...
