Not every dealer will do it. After my dealer refused me I contacted Stelantis and they said dealers are NOT supposed to give customers pin numbers. So if you got one and it works consider yourself lucky.
Looking around on the 2025 build site I noticed the 3.6 V6 engine option still lists as an etorque whereas the hurricane engine is listed as an ESS.
Does this mean they are using the traditional starter motor for the ESS system?
That was the whole bragging point of etorque, not using the starter...
What I notice is it's really hard to come to a "smooth" stop with the system engaged. The motor does cut off quite abruptly.
Next time I'm out I'll try to pay more attention to what's going on.
Yes you are feeling drag from the motor.
If you watch this video, at 6:30 into the video he explains the regenerative process and how there is extra drag by the motor upon deceleration. He even points out that it can be felt. I just didn't want a bunch of guys Terring into their brakes.
The...
Read above. Regenerative has nothing to do with brakes.
If it is somehow the regenerative process it's coming from motor
pulsation of the generator putting kind of a back pressure on the motor.
I've never felt anything.
Is it raining or wet out when you feel this?
I too have an alpha and I was told it could program a fob if you have the pin. I was unable to get my pin.
Are you sure your pin is correct?
Don't reveal if you don't want to, but where did you get your pin?
Edit: I was unclear as to whether or not you had etorque at first.
First off, you have to have an etorque in order to have Regenerative anything.
If you do,
Regenerative braking is a marketing term. It should be called Regenerative Deceleration.
It has nothing, I shouldn't say nothing to do...
My truck is one year old now and there have been 3 different manual versions. I accidently downloaded several copies over time and while searching for the manual to view it, I noticed the different editions of the download in the search results. That's why someone may say look at page 277, if...
While you're looking at your manual, is the truck on the cover the same color as your truck?
I've always wondered if they matched books to trucks.
My truck is Patriot blue so is my manual.
Yes, Thanks for the post. I'm going to install the kit also in a couple of months.
As stated in the other post above, hopefully they've changed O-rings but at least I'll know to keep an eye on it.
That is quite complicated especially steps 6 & 7, but It's probably to ensure proper lubrication of stuff before a flat tow.
I don't think the dashboard trans disconnect is meant for long distance flat towing. It's an emergency thing.
