bmarcurella,
Great article you shared. Excited to see how FCA updates the 12inch screen with IOS13 Carplay updates. Some cool tech features could be in our future.

We worked out a concept yesterday to have a channel running down the middle for a charging cord. If you don't want to run a charging cord it will be an area to store business cards/car wash cards or whatever.
Now that we know is a GF requirement and life or death for you, you will get a cord...
That is something we can look into. As it is right now there is room to run the cable over the organizer. Would this be better than having it higher. Toss up of things falling from one compartment to another when vertical or the cord having room. But a notch is feasible. I will get with the...
Test #2 completed. Fits 95% just right. Need to make 2 small adjustment that hopefully will be easy. Needs to be widened by a few millimeters and the height is great with the lower section but small items (like a lighting to 3mm adaptor) can move from section to section when the arm rest is...
Armrest organizer is in final stages. trial one needed a few measurement adjustments. Today trial 2 will be tested for fit. Once this is set, he will work on the plate for the dash tray and then a slider organizer.
Unfortunately the armrest organizer is two 4hr prints so each trial takes...
This is interesting. As I shut down the truck last night and heard the wonderful whistle, I remembered to check the sticker. My sticker has the 567g marking. So I have the correct sticker at least. Guess it is time to make the apt and let the dealer have the truck for a day.
Sfoster0717,
This is great and funny. We were just talking about that area this weekend. We will look into a design for that too. Fortunatly it is summer so he has some time for designing. His second printer came in yesterday so he is busy putting that together, 9-12hr assembly. Since you...
Update: My son has the design created. He needs to get out 1 or 2 more organizers and then he can print the first model and we can test fit. He is also receiving his 2nd printer today so in the next couple days he will have 2 printers going.
Do have one question. My arm rest storage area does...
cjmst23,
I am not positive. It is created for a Laramie. Big Horns have had no issues from the feedback I received. We have had one person with a limited purchase an organizer and it did not fit as the bottom of the slider is not smooth, it has a few items that drop below the slider bottom...
Stuart V,
Good info, glad you shared.
He puts a bottom on the organizer so it can slide back to have access to the 110 plug for those (like me) who have that feature. It also allows you to pull the organizer out while still keeping everything inside of it.
For your Ipad situation. I can check...
SynAckuL,
This is something he can do. Of course he will need to make his own twist on it. Curious, would pre-holes for the mount be better or if there was an area that is solid fill so you can drill your own holes for the mount you want or be able to use a suction cup mount?
oh oh, i feel a...
I believe the 'Movie Theater' lighting is an option and not on all Laramie's. Do you have two rolor dials on the lower part of the dash to the left of the steering wheel. If so one is for the dash and screen brightness the other is for the 'movie theater' lighting. If you only have one then...
Mustard54,
Thank you for the pics and drawing. That was fast :) I was thinking you wanted something in the slider and the rebel was different. But with these pics, I see it is the arm rest storage area. My Laramie has that same compartment and I have thought of designing one for that area...
Just a bit of an update for some of you that have been paying attention to the organizer. He got behind a bit as his current printer has been having a few breakdowns. Parts have been ordered and repairs made but who knows what is next to go down. So he decided to invest in a 2nd printer...
SynAckul,
Thank you for reaching out to me. I am sure he can design something as he enjoys doing custom work. I'll need some pics, measurements and concept of what you would like. From there he can do a cad design, send a pic of that before doing the actual print.
The bummer is that I don't...
Why would FCA retro fit or update for Wifi Carplay? Tech, safety and Future growth that is why. Tech is where vehicles are going, hands down. Tech is the focus to make roads safe and with all the new laws for hands free, the easier and better hands free compatibility there is with a phone...
Sparkygreen,
You are correct, there is a lot of data being passed and that is why Apple requires Bluetooth to pair and then wifi to help with data stream.
with out wireless carplay, i have a wifi feature that is worthless.
In doing a bit of research about wireless carplay, I discovered that a vehicle needs bluetooth and wifi in order for wireless carplay to work. OK. not all trucks have it but many do, specially in the upper trim models or features. Now, per Apple FCA is a company that already has wireless...
Same results for carplay.
I tried using the truck nav as my primary nav. After a 2,500 mile round trip, found it very subpar to Apple Maps and Google Maps. So now just let the phone map be on the top screen and chose 'Music" for the bottom screen to display apple music, pandora or spotify.
So I read in another thread about having the drivers seat belt connected as a solution. So last night I gave it a try. Truck running, in park, step out, buckle the seat belt, get back in, put in N, open the door and step out. Truck stayed in N. So the tricks are: must be running and seat belt...
