I did that same leveling kit a month ago and haven't really noticed much change, still in the mid 18s for mixed driving. At interstate speeds of 70+ I think the economy may be dropping a bit with the level....but I only drive on the interstate about 3 times a year. On relatively flat highways...
That is one of the funniest posts I've ever read.
Fortunately I never gave Ramboxes a thought because I knew I was going to put a topper on my truck.
I realize putting a topper on a brand new Ram is like a sexy woman wearing a flannel button up shirt, but I'm past the point in my life where...
I don't know, just a bit (lot) excessive. My 2 cents....anyone driving a truck that big and expensive is probably lacking something else in their life they are compensating for.....
Curious how many people give their truck a name. Mine, being a maximum steel, my kids instantly named Max. He is part of the family. Never referred to as the Ram, or the truck....always as Max. It's kind of hilarious.
I wanted to buy a Prius, but having a truck is functional for my life needs (and fun!). Trying to get Prius mileage out of my 400hp V8. Hanging close to 20mpg with this tank, so getting close. Start/stop is so smooth, why turn it off?
I've got in the habit of when I come to a stop at a light, I just crank my temp dial from the mid 60s up to about 73 or 74. That instantly initiates the truck to stop because it thinks that cabin is cool enough. Still blows air and the cabin will warm up a bit while stopped, but it's not too...
I won't call these truths, I'm going to call these "preconceived notions". This is what I expected with my Ram, that so far appear to be true:
1. My old 2014 Silverado 1500 was a pig and drove like a tank compared to my new Ram. It's way more powerful, better transmission, and much smoother...
Took delivery of my new Ram a few weeks ago, and today was scrolling through the vehicle info on the instrument cluster and noticed my tires were inflated to about 50 psi!
I live at about 7,000ft of elevation in CO, so can only assume they were inflated to a proper pressure at the factory in...
Oddly, a 12V battery is considered somewhere in the ballpark of 90% discharged at a reading of 12V. A fully charged battery should test in the 12.8 - 13.2 range, give or take.
Living in a CO mountain town, Tundra/Tacoma and Subaru combined make up over half of the vehicles I see around town. Both to me say, "I want a 4x4/AWD to get around in the snow, but don't want to put any thought into the decision making process, so I will just buy what everyone else has."...
Every vehicle make and manufacturer seems to have a few hidden gremlins. I plan on keeping my truck until about 100K miles, which will take me 7-8 years. After that point I will likely want the latest and greatest....hopefully by 2029 I can get a Ram with a tiny hydrogen fusion reactor...
This was an incredible discussion and helped me a lot with deciding on which gears I wanted when I ordered my Bighorn.
Long story short for me: the 3.21s coupled with the 5.7 engine and 8sp transmission has a crap ton of power. I usually only tow a snowmobile trailer, of small utility...
Interesting. Thanks for all the insight. I'm sure if I wanted the active air dam installed after the fact it's $1000+....the $80 credit on the invoice was kind of laughable.
Very first tank on my new 2021 crew cab, 4x4, Big Horn, 5.7 etorque, got 17.8 mpg on mixed highway/city travel. I'm pretty happy with that.
I opted to keep the stock 3.21 gears, and so far think that is helping.
I was previously driving a 2014 Silverado, crew cab, 4x4, 5.3L V8 and was...
Just received my Big Horn North Edition that I ordered back a few months ago. Overall very please with the truck.
However, while going over the final build and pricing sheet at my dealership, one of the options was "active air dam delete". It took $80 off the price of the truck. I certainly...
