Well, I have never owned Ford, but I agree with a lot of previous posts that the door keypad would be pretty handy. My last vehicle was a 2014 Silverado 5.3L. Can honestly say the only things I miss about that truck were the rear bumper steps and easier oil changes.
My Bighorn is way more...
That's actually pretty funny. I'm sure plenty of Prius owners try to figure out how to tow with their vehicle, or haul some small lumber, or load 5 bikes on the back of it.
Everyone buys a vehicle that best suits their individual needs, and they are all trade offs in one way or another. I...
That's awesome! My very limited experience with this truck so far, best instant MPG readout seems to be about 45-48mph right when the truck shifts to 7th. Very little engine load, not going too fast yet to create huge drag.
If you could find a long, flat, 45 mph backroad with no stops to...
Only 4,000 miles on the truck, haven't done any towing yet. Generally most of what I tow is a snowmobile trailer in 4wd in the winter, so expecting mileage to be horrible regardless. My last few tanks of 85 octane, mixed driving, has been in the 18-20mpg range. Just put in 91 octane this...
Both have very similar shoulder lugs with a sharp edge for good snow/ice biting, and they both have very similar siping. Last thing you might look at is tread depth on your specific size. In general, a tire with deeper tread will last longer, but I find that after two years, my AT tires are...
I looked at that ATP last time I purchased tires for my Silverado. Strongly considered them, they look darn good. Ended up getting the Cooper AT3 XLT because they had a better rebate at the time.
I think if I was in the market for tires right now and those ATPs were on sale for $660 for the...
First car in high school was a 1990 Chevy Corsica. No pics of it, but honestly, why would anyone take pics of a 90s sedan? Gross.
Saved up through college, and my junior year (2003) bought a 1997 Dodge Dakota on ebay for $5,000. Had the 5.2L magnum, 4x4, I thought I was cool stuff! Tinkered...
Same here, I shift in and out of 4Hi often in the 60-65mph range. I'm sure it could be done harmlessly going faster, but honestly if the conditions warrant 4wd, should you be doing 70+???
I was watching closely about 4 or 5 years ago I think, Rivian was all on board with putting out a plug in hybrid. It ran the first 50 miles on all electric, then the 3.0L V6 kicked in to charge batteries, but it still was running on electric. Sounded very appealing, plug it in at home...
If he is in a location out west anywhere like me, there are no good burning hardwoods within about 1000 miles. Pine, birch, cottonwood, and aspen is about the only firewood available....which is all about 1 step better than burning cardboard.
A lot of good responses here so far. I was a bit in the same boat before I ordered my '21. Similar to others though, I live in a mostly rural area, long road trips, and towing longer distances, my life just isn't ready for an EV yet.
However, if you live in an urban area with better charging...
Tried to notice this morning. Generally with a very light foot you can see the mds kick in when eco light comes on, instant mpg will bump up a bit accordingly. Haven't noticed that instant bump up anytime unless the eco light comes on with it.
Trying to figure out when and why the truck seems to go into eco mode (mds active from everything I've read here.)
I didn't see the eco light once until about 1,500 miles, then one day I started seeing it all the time on my daily 20 minute highway commute.
Then mysteriously I didn't see it...
