I run car seats too… 😀 I actually removed the headrests on the first day of ownership despite being told they “couldn’t be removed” If I remember correctly I used a paperclip to unlock them.
They still stay upright, there seems to be a detent built into the raised position. Its not quite as tight but it still stays up. If you really want to make it tighter you could probably cut slightly less, like 1.25” off the hooks and then its really tight to get it to fold down or reattach...
Nothing rattles at all, locks in the same way as the Uncut hooks. This is my 3rd truck dodge/ram truck doing this to and I’ve never had any long term issues. My other ram I had both sides done to fit a sub, but this 5th gen has a factory alpine sub in the corner of the pass side.
Also, Looks...
Since I couldn’t find any good Information on modding the rear seat to fold down, I decided to tackle the mod and share. Ive done this on a dakota and a 4th gen ram and the 5th gen is very similar.
Why do this? The basic trim levels of this truck have seats that fold up, but the backs do not...
I absolutely love the look of this grille. I havent purchased it yet but am seriously considering it. I decided to do a quick photoshop to see what it would look like on my setup. Before and after, yea or neah?
Just hit 34k and my factory battery took a dump. Dead after work today. I noticed it was getting weak the last month or so. Replaced it with a oreilys super start agm H7 because it was in stock locally. Still an upgrade over the factory cca and capacity so I’m happy. Starts like a rocket now...
My neighbors 19 Ram with 50k on the dial started acting all funky like this, would not start, would start, needed a jump in the morning etc. took it to oreilys and it passed a battery draw test. I told him that was ******** and it needed a battery. He was skeptical but the next morning it...
Also got this info from a car alarm installer. Have not tested it but here is what he told me.
Starter wire. Lt blue/tan. Bcm above drivers kick. Black 24 pin plug. Pin 19.
pparently opening this wire will disable the starter.
Yes.. i dont see any possible way to keep the active air dam with a front skid plate. Its a big bar/motor/mounts/linkage/fairing setup. Mine took a mpg or two hit at 70 removing it, but the factory bumper is tin foil..
Thanks! I contacted the westin customer service and they informed me you can buy just the housing/bracket kit. It is part number 58-991PK for the square opening kit. Post up a pic of yours! :)
