I can't help but wonder about the internal Mopar discussions on this. The Durango has sort of an opposite issue. The turn signals are red... and I seem to recall Ram making a point about the new truck turn signals being made amber for better contrast. On the Durango, the red turn signal is very...
Idk about September; seems late to me.
The new tailgate just revealed. Ram says 2Q availability (Mar to Jun 2019). I was assuming THIS would coincide with the 2020 MY.
Also the ecoDiesel. Ram says will be available summer 2019. I'm assuming also this will be a 2020 MY truck.
I'm not a Harley fan either. Not at all.
Could this be a "feeler" truck? All of the brands say they haven't found the ceiling for what people will pay for a premium truck. It's debatable how premium this truck is, but seems like a safe way to test the waters.
@Jared B ha! Indeed. These two guys are obnoxious at first, but give them a chance and you'll enjoy their work. We'll need a whole 'nother thread to talk about the Ford :geek:
Yup... mirrors had to be deployed in the normal position because the reviewer stepped through each camera view and the...
It's as if they ran out of budget after designing that tailgate. This is no longer a premium brand.
If the tiny 24 gallon fuel tank wasn't enough to send you running away, I just learned it doesn't have adaptive cruise control. Instead, they give you something called "Following Distance...
I had no idea, J. If he's like that I don't even want to mention the name lest people wander over there and get bad info. I like the style and tempo here much better, for sure; much more even keeled and solid. That much is plainly obvious.
This tailgate info may seem like a simple thing but it...
Thanks for that input, J.
IIUC the Hellcat uses a twin-screw type supercharger, which, different from turbo's, don't need to be rev'd high to create torque. Now that you mention it, I can see it being a good fit for a work truck and not just for a high performance car.
Btw "idiot" is the...
I think some progress is being made. The Tow Mirrors on the HD are power-fold and support surround view camera. I'd wager this trickles into the 2020 1500's... with hopefully an OEM upgrade path.
I thought sport sedans were competitive, but they've got nothing on pickups. It's good to be the beneficiaries of the Big 3 one-ups-manship game. Mopar seemed to have turned a corner about 20 years ago and got VERY good at designing gas engines. The 5.7, 6.1, 6.2 Hellcat, and 6.4 have all been...
Sounds reasonable, Chris.
I need to see this in person before ordering. If it's as solid as I think it is... game on. I would be hesitant, though, if there was any vertical slop or sway in the swing gates. It would bother me to no end if these things were weak and led to vertical misalignment...
Thirdly, which you might know, sometimes factory or supply hiccups introduce temporary restrictions of options or combinations.
Best bet to get to a dealer and let them tell you what Dealer Connect says.

A few things:
1. Tint is worth spending a little bit of money on, both the product itself and the installation. If either is bad, you'll hate your truck or spend money again to redo it.
2. Ceramic yes but take care; some are reported to block phone signals...
Why would this weigh 75 pounds more than the regular tailgate? Surely a few more hinges and latches don't weigh that much. Given this, and Ram's comment that the box needs to be replaced for retrofitting, is most of this weight due to beefing up the box sides to handle a swing gate?
