Well I had every diesel owners nightmare happen to me a few weeks ago in Vermont. Got a batch of fuel that froze up overnight when the temperature dropped to -16°F. (I don’t normally run any antigel products, but certainly will after this event. Bought some hotshots antigel just as an insurance...
Big fan of “I Do Cars” channel. Eric does a tear down every Saturday night, would highly recommend his channel to any gear heads. He’s done 2 Ecodiesels so far, both were second gen though I believe. Ugh, modern (emissions systems intact) diesels can hold a lot of carbon in them.
It'll drop a code, usually P0671- P0676 to indicate which cylinder is faulting. As well when you first startup in the cold the little "Coil/Glow Plug" light will flash for the first 10 seconds of running. you can hear the truck misfiring just a hair too for the first 20 or so seconds of running...
I can’t say that I’ve definitely seen that much increase. Based on my driving habits I’ve seen less than advertised increase, maybe just 3-5% but still noticeable at the pump.
As far as the passing power goes it is absolutely a night and day difference. The engine has much more usable power...
So far so good here.
91K miles, only issues were a dead glow plug and plug module around ~60K, dealer covered plug, I paid for the module :(. And another at ~85K, I swapped that one myself to avoid the trip to the dealer.
HPFP replaced with with updated unit by the dealer in spring of 2024.
No...
What year and how many miles are on the truck? Any check engine light will prevent the remote start from working, usually the vehicle will fire up and then shut down after about 5-10 seconds of running. Does the truck crank when you try to remote start it, or does it do nothing at all...
If you're looking to keep the insurance company out of it, I'd say do the bumper and the taillight on your own. Used, aftermarket, or OEM are all pretty well available as others have said above. Then maybe find a PDR guy or a reputable body shop to pull that dent and paint the bed side or just...
I believe the valve is located underneath the coolant reservoir up against the firewall on the Passenger Side on the 5th gen trucks, but that is only based on a quick look at AllData's information on my 2021. Please take that with a grain of salt.
Unfortunately it does seem that those are your options. Keep driving it till everything resets, or see if the dealer could help you without losing your shirt. If your dealers service dept is willing, like I said, a parked regen should only take just about 20 minutes. If the issues persist after...
I've read elsewhere that Ram's modern diesel emissions systems need to go through at least 1 (sometimes 2) regens before the computers will read the filters as "ready." Whether that is a forced (parked) regen or a regen while driving I don't know. The best way to induce a parked regen in my...
That was my logic with my current AT3W’s as well, they’ve been exceptional for just about everything I do with my truck. Glad to hear the AT4Ws are treating you well.
