Thanks for chiming in, sounds exactly like what I'm experiencing. I was thinking it was suspension related at first because as you say it only happens when in motion while turning and not stationary turning the wheel. I think something is out of spec and slight body roll and flex in turns causes...
Wanted to update as I received a call this afternoon that they had traced the issue to the steering rack. There have ordered a new rack and are planning on installing it next Tuesday, I will post another update after. I asked my service advisor how certain they were that it was a bad steering...
Truck currently sits in the service department overnight and I'm in a loaner. Service advisor is telling me they believe the clunk is coming from the rack and pinion but are not certain yet. He said they have had a difficult time pinpointing the issue and the rain here today is making it more...

What’s the current mileage on your trucks? Mine has about 350 miles on it. If it’s still an issue after 3-4K mi, that would help me figure out if it’s potentially a break in item or not.
Wouldn’t hold my breath, It’s still very early. Not even sure if this is an issue yet. Get the lifetime warranty and sleep peacefully knowing it’s all covered.
Yeah, I’m hesitant also. Good to know it’s not just me though. Wondering if it’s a break in thing. I went out earlier and tightened all the lug nuts thinking it could be something stupid like that. Some of them were definitely looser than others, but I still heard the clunk after
I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to being a control arm issue. If they’re over torqued, they’re not moving as freely as they should and I think the clunk I’m hearing is them binding up a bit. If you’re hearing it while turning right, one of yours may be over torqued also. It only happens to me...
Anybody heard any clunking noises while turning? I can replicate the issue fairly easily. Doesn’t happen every time but often. Not sure if it might be air bags, control arms, etc but definitely sounds suspension/steering related. Wondering if it’s something that will break in or a problem I...
The day I went in to order my truck, I almost left with a 2500. They had one brand new on the lot exactly how I would’ve wanted it. Ultimately, i decided that the capability of this truck coupled with the excellent ride and the tech was more practical for me. And at 8-10k less than the 2500 I...
We are making a long trip from central NC to western TN this coming weekend to pick up an ordered travel trailer. We’ll be taking my dad’s ‘18 2500 Cummins to pick it up. Never done that long of a trip in it but I’m sure we’ll be glad we took it on the way back through the Appalachian mountains...
Not sure if they changed the air suspension or if it has something to do with the 4x4 off road group, but mine doesn't have OR2. It has entry/exit, Aero, Normal, and Off-Road I didn't find the offroad setting to be harsh at all, took the bumps very well. Was not traveling very fast, probably...
First trip out to the farm today. Tried out the 4X4 and axle lock, as well as the Off Road setting on the air suspension. The ride on those bumpy dirt/gravel farm roads was sublime. Now she’s ready for her first wash!
