The local dealer around here also uses "semi synthetic oil" and wants you back every 3000 miles. I know for a fact that they use a no name bulk oil blended by a local distributer. Ok maybe but they have no knowledge of any quality control or verification to spec. The drums just give the viscosity.
I change mine myself. That way I know what oil is in it and how much. The oil plug isn't cross threaded or tightened until stripped. Also I dont have to listen to pesky dealer tech's trying to sell me a cabin air filter and air filters every 6000 miles.
Yes with those temps you can expect battery issues. OEM batteries aren't the greatest to begin with. As stated above one of those 2 amp battery tenders make a tremendous difference in battery life as well as cold cranking amps. I have many old cars and I keep tenders (6 bucks from Harbor...
Thats a really odd issue. I have had several rams and never heard of that. I don't believe that has anything to do with the gas octane. To start the truck it would use the gas still in the lines that it has already been running off of. So that is BS.
A piece of advise, be careful and be very diligent on getting your deal on printable paper form. Dealers are up to speed on the internet, and you may think you have the deal on a chat line or the phone but you need provable paper work. Here is a nightmare story from Nissan dealer brand NOT...
My opinion is they are a waste of money. Especially on original purchase. You have 30,000 miles to work the bugs out and then they still besiege you with last chance offers to buy one at 30.000. So why waste you money at the dealer. I dont believe in them. I think of my life of cars and I cant...
I have had the same issue with my 2019 Laramie, couldn't open it for nothing. I found that if you push in (lean in on the gate with your shoulder and work the latch it unhooks. Then it will work ok for a month or so.
I have a 2019 I ordered a year ago. It has the same problem of occasionally having the tailgate not open with the manual latch. I took it to the dealer but they of course couldnt duplicate it and I got the usual grease job. I have found that if you pull the latch and at the same time bump the...
I absolutely love my truck. Two things, the trailer tow mirrors need to power fold to get in the garage this is a pain. I have heard they are finally going to fix that next year. Also I too have some trouble with the tailgate. Sometimes it wont open I have to shove really hard on it to get it...
Its been discussed several times but I wanted to add this. I have a 2019 Ram and I ordered the larger gas tank. I had a 2013 with the larger tank and the gas gauge always read as the smaller tank, thus leaving 5-6 gallons in it when it reads empty. I could never find out if the new series trucks...
I ordered a 2019 Laramie 1500, Hemi, air suspension, 392 gears as I pull a trailer 80% of the time. This is my 4th Ram and it is the best truck I have ever owned. My brother has driven GMC trucks but has had the last two have transmission trouble that seems to be unfixable. Rough shifts and...
Geez I have a 2019 with 27,000 on it. I have had all those recalls on mine also, they are minor things to check. I just wait until I go in for service and then they do all the updates then and I don't even notice any inconvenience. Other than having quite a few recall notices for minor things...
I hope they are not missing the basics that really irritate owners. I personally know two ford sales due to not having POWER FOLD TOWING MIRRORS ON A 1500. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
