I've got 2500 miles and have only had a couple of warning surprises and two brake events at very low speed. Just the other day I'm driving down a super-congested highway at 70 mph with bad lane markers, narrow lanes, dividing "sticks" to separate HOV lanes, and I did have a twitch of wondering...
I have a Laramie Sport which does have the gold (I'd call it "champagne") bezel trim, which also extends down the side rails.
Since I ordered the truck before there were any Laramies to preview, I was a little disappointed initially - but it's grown on me and to be honest I don't really notice...
Grits, I'll be interested to hear if you're still just as happy a few days down the road. I do have those days where I'm like "oh, it's fine, I'm overreacting" and then others where it's just not acceptable.
Interesting that you say an evac and recharge made a difference, I doubt I can...
Awesome, I'll probably do the same, wasn't sure if the 3" raceland unit would still work. At $159 it is a fraction of the cost of some exhaust setups and twice the fun. I had a mom and pop muffler shop weld it in, they did a perfect job for $75.
I had this setup on my 2011 - I mounted the...
Yes. Mine was built late May and many of the early problems were resolved. The hood flutter is a good example. I've also had no issues with brake noise (knock on wood).
People are still buying trucks off the lot that were manufactured in March / April which is why you still hear of the...
Yes, after weeks of 90 degree temps I'm sure most of us have tried everything. :)
I'm still less than happy with my AC performance, but still hopeful for improvement one way or another.
RT7 thanks for the checkin with a factory guy. If people aren't complaining to the dealer, the issues won't...
I hate to say it for all the folks that didn't get it due to tow mirrors, but I really like the 360 cam. Especially when parallel parking in front of something, it gives you a lot of perspective of where the truck is at. Ditto with parking lot lines, etc.
The outlet temp shots everyone is taking are interesting, but unless everyone is testing the same way there are just too many variables - especially if you've been driving vs sitting still.
I did measure my driver's side center outlet vs passenger side center outlet and was shocked to see a...
Yeah, I've demoed the feature for friends a few times now and while it is an interesting gimmick, it has usually taken 3x as long to let it self park vs doing it myself. The auto-brake is part of it, if you're coming in too hot it'll slam the brakes on.
If you don't log a complaint with the dealer, there's no reason to assume FCA would address the problem. Please do that - it'll help us all get them fixed sooner.
My point is that we had a member post what he said was the 5th gen AC performance spec, and another member post what they said was the 4th gen AC performance spec, and they were the same.
I can say I am "not as comfortable" in this Ram, which yes may be normal vs previous gen. But I also...
The 4th gen test procedure that 96Dodge posted has an identical performance chart to the 5th gen data that ilovegrits posted.
I can say without a doubt that the AC in my 5th gen is not performing as well as my 4th gen.
I guess I'll be going back to the dealer. I'll also message RamCares.
Here are the results of my driveway test - we're just about in for a downpour, so it is very cloudy out. And it's 7 pm.
Ambient temp 93 degrees. (truck outdoor temp says 95)
7:00 - Started Truck, tried to hold rpm at 1000 but oddly the best I could do was bouncing between 800-1200
7:01 -...
I don't know why you wouldn't be concerned. Air Conditioning is a pretty big deal. It's 92-95 today in S Florida.
I'm still a bit perplexed. Drove the truck to the store at 4 pm, 20 mins including an 8 min interstate jaunt and I would rate the A/C performance as a 3-4 out of 10. The...
Thanks for that chart - I'll throw a temperature probe in mine over the weekend. @Ilovegrits is there any more test data/procedure available?
I did notice an odd blower noise change today just sitting stopped at a light. I do wonder if there is some blend door / recirc door shenanigans going...
If you have issues, take your truck in. I felt a bit the same way, but realized that there was no way that problems would be escalated to the factory unless they were reported by service departments.
I had this happen as well on my long road trip home - if it is, in fact, the recirc door - it may be a “safety” feature?
I’ve had European cars that were very explicit tha they would turn off recirc mode after x minutes, or would occasionally switch it off.
Well, dropped my Ram off at the dealer for a couple of issues this week, one of them was poor A/C performance. I realized I've had my A/C on "lo" temp and recirc almost since I bought it, which is not normal. I've also noticed that the air coming out of the vents when on non-recirc feels a bit...
