    Power port under rear seat?

I think you would be best to add a small power inverter under the rear seat. Tapping into factory wires likely wont support the amperage required to run an inverter, but maybe its not so much for a battery tender, not sure? I would run a 10G/8Ga fused power wire from the battery back to...

    Matching up tint

I thought the general consensus was 18%-20% on the fronts would match the backs, if anything it would be a little lighter in the front than the back since you get more light transfer from the windshield. My 2014 I went with 20% on the front and that is how it looked to me. I havent got...

Re: Installing Full Stereo w/ Sound Deadening - Pandemic Project

I thought it was all pretty easy. There are PDF's on here if you search showing rear seat removal steps, I used that as a guide. Just search rear seat removal, if you cant find them let me know. You need an E12 reverse torx socket for the front bolts and 18mm for the rear bolts. T50 for...

Re: Installing Full Stereo w/ Sound Deadening - Pandemic Project

Here is an album with all the other pics I took. The further I got into it, the less pics I took, but ultimately it all turned out as expected and everything worked great. Regarding the windows, if you are just changing the speakers it won't make a difference. You need to disconnect the...

Added a Little LED Up Front..What ya think?

Looks good! I assume that is the white color option? Seems to have a blueish tint to it....is that accurate or just the photo? On their website the white example looks very white. Thanks!

    Interior Panel Trim Clips

They are a bear. The metal spikes/prongs that hold them to the panel bend the wrong direction when they get stuck in the truck. I used a pair of needle nose pliers and was able to bend the spikes back into a shape that would allow the metal clip to fit back on the plastic panel tab, but I...

5th Gen Stock Stereo Upgrade Options?

An update for anyone that might benefit from it in the future. I was able to run my 1/0 power through the factory grommet in the firewall, then behind the center console stack into the passenger footwell, then kick panel. From there it fit in both front and rear wire channel trays all the way...

    Interior Panel Trim Clips

Does anyone have any experience with these trim clips? I stripped my interior to install stereo and some of the panels popped off no problem where the metal clip came out and remained attached to the plastic panel ( think this is how they are supposed to work). Some of the panels popped...

Re: Installing Full Stereo w/ Sound Deadening - Pandemic Project

Here is a shot of the front door 3.5" speaker depth. There is not much room at all. You need something with a 1"-1-1/8" mounting depth if possible. I have JL 3.5" for the dash and they were WAY too big to fit in the door. I added photos of the 3.5" mounted in the door. There is zero room...

5th Gen Stock Stereo Upgrade Options?

Thanks for the info. I'll have to get that E-Torx. I was assuming standard torx would be all I needed. I also have 18mm socket, but I don't think I have a 19mm. If I need to get one of those too when I get the E-Torx. Thanks!

5th Gen Stock Stereo Upgrade Options?

Thanks for the heads up. I am running 1/0 so we will see how it goes. Im definitely taking out both rear seats to get back there with the sound deadening. I have nothing but time, so I figure I will end up pulling the driver's seat if needed to help run wires. Thanks!

5th Gen Stock Stereo Upgrade Options?

Thanks for the info. I have 1/0 Power wire so I will have to see if it will fit in the same spot or not. Great info on the grounding lug! Mine is non-etorque and that will come in very handy!

5th Gen Stock Stereo Upgrade Options?

Awesome work! Where did you run the main power wire inside the cab? Ive read some say that its hard to run down the door sills since there is no room. Just curious if you ran it there or pulled the seat and ran it down the center? Also what is your second battery and where is it located...

Re: Installing Full Stereo w/ Sound Deadening - Pandemic Project

I'm taking my time and that is the only door Ive done so far. Next will be the other rear door, followed by fronts. I may get a few hours in today, assuming we dodge the rain. When I get to the fronts I will be sure to post photos. Thanks!

Re: Installing Full Stereo w/ Sound Deadening - Pandemic Project

Install pics from driver's rear door. First time pulling the outer panel off is a bit intense. I was pulling on it so hard it really felt like it was about to break in half. As mentioned in other posts you really have to give it a forceful yank and also it helps push the door open at the...

Re: Installing Full Stereo w/ Sound Deadening - Pandemic Project

Thanks for the input. I dont think they have an HD 6 channel. At least without going to RX/VX super high end. For coax speakers the XD has worked great. If I ever go active with a DSP im sure I will end up with different amps.
