Yes, it's a very easy removal and installation but most dealership techs dont take precautions to prevent damage when working on interiors. I was in the automotive field starting in the early 80's and worked at many dealerships. Some of the things that I witnessed involving interior work was...
Thanks for the reply. A PIN code makes sense. The GPS quit a few months ago which is no big deal as I use AA, but I would like to have the Compass and altitude working. If I could replace the GPS components within the module I would go that route, but so far have not been able to find out part...
Due to the GPS failure of my radio, I'm going to order a replacement module. Once I swap the modules, will I need to do anything in regards to unlocking the replacement and or mating it to my 19 Longhorn, or is it just "plug and play"? Thanks in advance for any info.
I would be interested in what parts are needed to repair the GPS as mine quit a few months ago and would like to repair it myself rather than buy a rebuilt one from RAM.
That's great to hear as I ordered two a week ago for a hopeful March delivery. The GPS went out in my 2019 with 12" display so I've been using Android Auto plugged into a USB. It will be great to have wireless.
Does anyone know if there is a way to replace the defective GPS hardware in the radio module? Being that the replacement radios from RAM are rebuilt units, they must have replaced the failed GPS chips (or whatever components failed). For those of us who are experienced with electronics it would...
I have no issues with the wireless Ram charger and would definately have installed it if the truck did not come with it. I use a Samsubg Galaxy S7 with an Otter Box case and no problem charging.
I was at Harbor Freight the other day and noticed they have some really nice quality utility / off road LED lighting options. Prices are reasonable too.
Thanks for the reply. My cellular connectivity works fine as does everything else other than the GPS and compass. I most likely will order the radio module as I would rather stay away from the dealerships unless it's a major expense.
After almost 2yrs and 9,000 miles, my GPS is telling me I'm about 15 or so miles from my actual location. It says the reliability is zero; I have the 12" screen. For those owners who have had the radio replaced, was it the complete 12" display or is it a seperate GPS Module? I know I can take it...
Look closely for any paint damage after they replace the window. Silicone is difficult to remove, and I'm sure the techs at the dealership wont be too careful and will most likely try and scrape it off rather than use the proper methods
Years ago I looked at a truck at a dealership that was known for customizing and applying graphics to the vehicles on their lot. There was a pickup that had horizontal graphics along each side. The top stripe was about 2" wide and each following stripe narrowed until the last was about 1/4" with...
Just make sure to check everything very carefully after the tech finishes the installation. Safelite sent a tech to repair a chip in my wife's windshield. The tech managed to crack the glass, requiring a replacement. The next day they sent someone else who installed the new windshield. After he...
The mat is only around $4.50 plus shipping depending on which online dealership you order from. I installed the Lockerdown last fall and am going to order a mat in case I sell the truck someday and want to keep the safe for another one.
Why didnt the tow truck driver manually put it in neutral (via the manual release cable in the dash)? That would have eliminated any strain on the drivetrain. Sounds like a lack of knowledge on the tow truck driver.
If you do buy the set, please post if they are straight. I was dissapointed that I had to return them as I do want the OEM style molding. I ordered from Athens CJDR and got free shipping. They were great to deal with and I would definately buy from them again.
They are chrome. The quality of the finish was beautiful, but there is no way they could have been installed correctly due to the curvature of the door pieces.
I think they changed to the smaller filter in 2014 due to the electric power steering rack. Not sure if it changed in the 2wd models. I installed a PacPro bypass filter kit last year and now use the larger Mopar filter.
