I find it rather puzzling that they would go through the effort to install keyless go without adding the proximity sensors for the passive entry in the doors. They key fobs are already set for proximity sense. It comes with the passive entry on the Laramie and Limited versions. In the past they...
Without the air suspension, there is a blank-off plate that covers the switch location closest to the driver. Has anyone found an aftermarket switch that matches the others and would go in that location? I am interested in putting in a switch to control additional lighting like the Dual 6-inch...
With the two units being manufactured by different companies, there ended up being some major differences. One being that the Nav unit requires a different bezel, and it is a full bezel that includes the switches and climate control knobs. However, there is some good news. There is a company...
I posted this on another thread, but it applies here too: Infotainment.com is working on a solution right now. They have not yet released the upgrade kit, but you can put your name on a waiting list to be notified when the solution comes available. infotainment.com is probably the best resource...
Infotainment.com is working on a solution right now. They have not yet released the upgrade kit, but you can put your name on a waiting list to be notified when the solution comes available. infotainment.com is probably the best resource to upgrade your non-nav unit to either the 8.4C Nav or...
I am pretty sure the radios have the physical capability to do HD radio and it seems that FCA had originally intended to include HD radio in the non-Nav unit. However, every unit produced requires a licensing fee to iBiquity, the holders of the patent for HD Radio. I think it was a licensing...
It would be much more involved than just buying the different screen. The fascia is different as well. The non-nav is recessed while the nav unit is flush. Hopefully as time goes by this will be addressed by either FCA or aftermarket specialists. infotainment.com is probably the biggest...
I have argued this fact with FCA and they don't care. They tell me it does not come with HD as a canned response and refuse to acknowledge their own website states otherwise. I even screen captured this and sent it to them. They never responded.
I am SO with you on this!!!!!! I enjoyed the additional channels that were available on HD radio. I also enjoyed the higher quality sound. This is one reason I do not listen to SirriusXM because the bandwidth is so narrow for the uplink/downlink that it noticeably reduces the audio quality. In...
According to the uConect website, the 8.4 Non-Nav unit has HD Radio. It is also stated that HD Radio is included in the Non-Nav unit in the online manual for the 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 DT.

HD Radio has nothing to do with GPS and LTE. Why would the HD Radio need GPS and LTE connectivity? I ask because perhaps you know something more about the system, such as the HD digital signal decoding is done in the separate NAV unit that houses the GPS and LTE circuitry, but i have no idea why...
If the truck was manufactured prior to November 1st, 2018, there is a software glitch in the 8.4 non-Nav uConnect unit. All it needs is a software flash update at the dealership. The fading in and out is one of the key symptoms.
Update: Went to the dealer today with the Service Bulletin in hand. They tried to tell me I just didn't know how to use the system. They then looked at the Service Bulletin and realized I was right. They updated the software and it did indeed fix the problem! So in summary, ALL 2019 New Style...
Anything is possible. The hole is the same, its just the components that are different. The question becomes whether or not FCA will release the instructions on how to do it along with selling the necessary components needed. They CAN do it. The question is WILL they?
I thought I was going crazy. I just bought my truck two days ago and the radio does exactly what is described here! The truck had been on the lot since September, so if there was any update, I am sure it has not been done yet. I have an appointment tomorrow to have them look at the radio. Not...
