Diesel owners; do you regret your engine choice?

I've had mine for 1 year and 3 months with right around 21,000 miles on it and don't regret my decision a bit. The EcoDiesel is the smoothest, most enjoyable truck I've owned. The low end torque is great and makes pulling our 6500 lb travel trailer a much better experience than with a gas...

I didn't realize that, great bonus!

    Big Horn vs. Larime

One other thing I really like about the Laramie that you can't get on a Bighorn is the "leather" covered dash and door panels with stitching. IMO it looks and feels great and is one of the reasons I went Laramie over Bighorn. I realize the "leather" on the dash is probably just vinyl, but I...

    TSB 18-008-20 throttle lag

I've noticed that with the shifting as well, shifts seem a bit more firm/quicker than they were before. I've also noticed the shifting into 5th or 6th between 25-30 MPH, but really only see it when leaving the neighborhood in the morning so it doesn't bother me. I'm wondering if the shifting...

    TSB 18-008-20 throttle lag

If you look at Post #8 in this thread it shows a screen shot of TSB 18-008-20 Rev A. I’m not sure if 18-008-21 is a new TSB or if Ram just renamed 18-008-20 Rev A. I could not find 18-008-21 in the NHTSA data base.

2021 Ram 1500 missing rear wheel well liners...

It's not just Ram, Ford does the same thing. Ford charges $180 for wheel well liners.

    TSB 18-008-20 throttle lag

Under "Cause" for section B it says 18-008-21, which is the TSB number for the update, so hopefully that means they did it.

My Gen 3 just keeps impressing me more and more

Had to run about an hour away today to pick up some hardwood flooring. The attached picture shows my truck with 1200 pounds in the bed. The truck is sitting perfectly level, was very stable with the load in the back, and still managed to get 27 MPG on the trip back. I've got 20,500 miles on...

    2020 Rebel Ecodiesel MPG

Speed definitely kills MPG in these trucks. I normally get 27-28 on the highway cruising at 68-70 MPH. Hills and or wind also have an impact. Combination of city/hwy is right around 23-24 MPG. I have a 4WD Laramie with ORG and 3.92. The Duratracs on the Rebel may also contribute to slightly...

    Texas winter broke my Rebel!

I’ve had that group of warnings a few times (ABS, Traction Control and 4WD Unavailable) and it has always cleared on its own after a few miles. It normally shows up when I first start moving and at slow speed. I have not taken it in since it always clears and I figure the dealer would say they...

easiest tonneau cover to install and remove

R My Sentry CT is covered in snow after a storm the other day, with more coming tonight. May be a day or two before I can get decent pics.

    Recommended vs REQUIRED oil spec

I have a MOPAR service contract for mine, 4 oil changes for $400. I couldn't change it myself for any cheaper, so figured it is a good deal. Of course, I've had the dealer do 3 changes so far and all 3 times the techs tried to put Rotella T6 in it instead of the MOPAR spec oil.

Texas freeze, truck will not start!

Well, 4 degrees here in NW Louisiana this morning. Looks like the EDT wasn’t enough to keep the fuel from gel’ing. It fired up, then died after a few seconds. Supposed to be highs in the upper 20s today, hopefully that’ll get the fuel back up above the gel point.

Texas freeze, truck will not start!

That’s good to know, thanks! For as little as EDT costs, it seems like a no brainer for all of the supposed benefits.

Texas freeze, truck will not start!

It’s 17 degrees here in NW Louisiana, just tried my Gen 3 Ecodiesel to see if it would start. Fortunately, it cranked right up. I let it run for a few minutes and it seemed to be fine. I do use Hot Shots EDT at every fill up, not really an anti-gel additive but maybe it helped. It’s going...

    New Ram Ecodiesel

Mine doesn't have front brake assist, I'm guessing you must have adaptive cruise control on your truck and the front brake assist is a feature of that.

    Eco diesel reliability

Actually, for the Gen 3 all you need is a 28mm socket to change the fuel filter.

    New Ram Ecodiesel

You can definitely disable the rear braking assist feature. I haven't tried disabling park sense to see if that also disables rear braking assist, I prefer having park sense on but rear braking assist off. The rear braking assist is too sensitive and pretty regularly scares the crap out of me...
