CAUGHT: 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX Testing On The Streets:

Bravo1 do we know the shocks, yet? King vs Fox vs Bilstein (which Ram has used historically)

    Road noise- interior

Just FYI on the lower cab to bed seal. 4th gen owners found that seal to wear off paint on the bottom of the cab over time. Some removed it as they were concerned about rust and had some rust beginning due to it rubbing off paint. While you're under there or before you put it on, consider...

    Interesting finds behind back seat

This is funny but 4th gen guys wanted to remove the seal because it wore paint off and they were concerned about rust. Now 5th gens it was removed but guys want it back on to reduce dust and noise.

CAUGHT: 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX Testing On The Streets:

Issue shouldn't be heat load. The 5.7, 6.4 and 6.2 hellcat are in the JGC and durango with 8k tow ratings. I've read they will fit but would result in safety issues on the JL and JT so they will never be offered from the factory.

Wonder if one of the dynatrack pro-rock axles on the Jeep Five Quarters concept is what will be on the TRX? https://www.allpar.com/news/2019/04/easter-jeep-safari-vehicles-previewed-in-detail-44389

Its been a while. I have discovered a new fact.

So the plastic rail cap on top of the box lid is not setting tight, and the fiberglass lid is misaligned? I would think both of those should be able to be fixed. That's pretty terrible looking.

    Mototrend Work Truck Comparison

https://www.motortrend.com/cars/ram/1500/2019/ford-f-150-xl-vs-ram-1500-tradesman-vs-chevrolet-silverado-1500-wt-comparison-review/ Worth the read. Ram seems to dominate, with best base engine and transmission, best interior, best ride (both unloaded, and loaded over capacity, and towing)...

CAUGHT: 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX Testing On The Streets:

Interesting TFL has an "inside source" stating the rear 8 lugs are being used due to a supplier issue and the production truck will have all 6 lugs, while Jared sources indicated production will be all 8 lugs. If the difference is currently due to a supplier issue, i'm inclined to believe it is...

CAUGHT: 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX Testing On The Streets:

I was always told raptors sell above MSRP. No way i'd expect loaded under 80k. Doesn't a loaded trackhawk creep into the triple digits? But i guess SUV world premium Jeep can be compared against very expensive cadillacs, porsche, etc while TRX will only have Raptor and they are a league of there...

CAUGHT: 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX Testing On The Streets:

Due to having 35s i think it should get 4.10s as that equivalent setup with 33s would be about 3.86 (not far off from 3.92). 3.92 with 35s would be equivalent to 33 with 3.70 so that's interesting and maybe what they will go with. The redeye with 3.70 only has 29" tires - different situation...

What to sacrifice when looking for a new truck

I was in the same boat as you, just looking at used trucks. Decided i had to have crew cab, ramboxes, front bench seat, 3.92 gears. Those things really limited my options, but i'm glad i waited for a truck that had them. You'll have to decide for yourself how important ramboxes are, as that...

I'm not sure on that. I know the RamRunner seemed to handle larger bumps better, but i'm sure the older trans and computer programming where not great

12.2 MPG after first 1,000 miles

Yeah that doesn't surprise me with mainly city commuting. Our durango barely gets 13 mainly city with my wife driving in the winter.

First Sand Drive with the 2019 Off-Road Package

This is true - was not aware of 4auto now being standard for big horn, or the specific differences between the 5thgen on-demand and 4th gen on demand BW t-cases. That said, i can still "hear" (its more of a feel) my 4th gen on demand t-case "lock" or engage the clutch packs. I don't like my...

CAUGHT: 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX Testing On The Streets:

Exactly. That's the first i'd heard of someone saying the TRX was going to be 2500 based, or that the frame was from a 2500. I know there were the 2 4th gen modified 2500s pictured in a lot that was in the allpar thread - maybe that or the 8 lugs drove that assumption. FCA will have all the...

First Sand Drive with the 2019 Off-Road Package

I'm going to assume by your mention of 4wd auto that you have a higher trim (laramie, limited) with the off road package. Your t-case is not ideal (clutch packs) but its the trade off you get for getting the nice features of the higher trims. That means your 4X4 "lock" is not a true lock, it...

CAUGHT: 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX Testing On The Streets:

I don't think the TRX has to have a "2500 frame" nor have i read anything to indicate that it will. This could just as easily (and much more likely) be a 5th gen ram 1500 frame slightly modified to fit a 2500 8 lug axle, than a 2500 frame modified to fit 1500 front axle, bumper, cab, and bed...

CAUGHT: 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX Testing On The Streets:

? The 2500s still have 4th gen cabs and bed look and no rear dual exhaust. This is obviously 5th gen 1500 with 8 lug rear axle.
