Adarac offers a slightly taller upright that may give the clearance you need but I can't confirm that would solve the problem.
For the Adarac Pro system(aluminum) the bottom stringer/baseplate is an extruded piece that has a channel that holds the nuts that the uprights bolt to at the base...
Lowering the canopy under the in-place rack only works if you disconnect the canopy from the center pivot points or, what I do is disconnect the canopy from the bed and slide it out while it is still fully erected and then I take it apart for storage. That way is actually pretty easy. It’s not...
So after about two weeks with the AFE headers I have no more leaks. I have not had to re-torque any of the fasteners.
I can’t say that I notice any power differences, but that’s not to say there aren’t any additional ponies or torques. Also, mileage does not seem to have improved or diminished...
I can say that after having my transmission replaced the bump still persists. If I lower the truck(air suspension) when it is in gear at a stop, I replicate the issue with sometimes multiple “bumps”. I’m going to try lubricating the driveshaft splines next.
At my last oil change I was down from 5oz to 2.5oz of condensate in the catch can. 33,xxx mi.
Also, here is a picture of the back of the exhaust valve when I installed my shorty headers. I know it's not the intake valve, but you can see how clean it is burning.
So this Saturday morning I took the plunge and dove into the manifold replacement project.
In preparation for this work I nosed my truck into the garage and had the front end suspended on jack stands.
I then removed the negative terminal of the battery and removed the front wheels and fender...
Does anyone know the estimated shop time to replace exhaust manifolds? Torque Spec for the bolts? I found 32ft-lbs on a 4th gen site. I would imagine it is the same...
I’d be curious to see if ceramic coated factory manifolds would solve the cracking problem.
My ceramic coating application cost $279.
I will be taking temperature readings of the factory cast iron manifolds vs these ceramic coated headers for posterity’s sake.
Ceramic coating shop got the headers coated a week ahead of schedule! Happy camper.
There is still some weld splatter that I could have cleaned up, but I don't really care. These are going on a truck, not a show car. The owner of the shop commented on the quality of the AFE headers based...
I had 4 cans In the kit for probably 5 to 6 layers. I did a set of wheels on my 3rd gen 2500 a number of years ago with little prep and they lasted for years without much maintenance. I ended up swapping those wheels out before it failed. I still have one wheel from that truck behind the garage...
I recently bought a set of 18” takeoff rims to change out my 20” rims and oem tires for 35’s. My intent was to color match the new rims but rather than paint, I chose to try a matte anthracite plastidip wheel kit from dipyourcar.com
Prep work is everything when painting so I cleaned the wheels...

I‘m ditching the factory manifolds for shorty headers and am upgrading the fasteners as well. Mine came in this week and they are like little jewels. Very high quality.
Also, ARP fasteners for this application: part number 440-1201. Summit Racing had about as good a price as anyone. I chose 12pt heads for helping get a socket wrench on these in tight quarters, and I opted for stainless for longevity, not just aesthetics. I'm going with satin black ceramic...
I was shopping these AFE and JBA headers online across multiple sites and I found that AFE had random price drops or sales that made them cheaper than some of their vendors.
Well my AFE Twisted Steel Shorty Headers arrived today and I took them in for ceramic coating. Unfortunately it will take 2weeks for processing but after that I am going to dive in and tackle this leaky manifold that the dealer refuses to fix. I also bought some ARP stainless bolts to keep...
