Ran it in 8th, so MDS was disabled.
I think the RPM for both 8th gear and 7th gear were higher than what I posted, ~1800/1,900rpm in 8th and maybe ~2,200 rpm for 7th gear.

2 & 3. Yes. Even in Florida with flat roads the truck loves to downshift from 8th a lot. For example, cruise...
Yup. Never really used 4wd in my raptors. Sugar sand/mud etc. Only used it in the truly deep locations.
Would spend a day on the trails and could rock the locked diff at most.
That and tires play a big role, as you said.
Mopar will have their version out supposedly in December. Probably will cost more than the Vararam but I assume there will be zero warranty issues with their unit.
Wish they would make a TR/TRX but in a street version.
Market may not be huge, but there still are plenty of performance folks out there that want another Lightning/HD/SRT-10 truck over a bloated "trophy truck".
Seems that market died and never came back after the recession.
I was actually looking at the Chevys before the Ram, mainly due to the rare 6.2L engine they offered in the Silverado/Sierra.
However, the interior for both the outgoing and new model just weren't up to par for the pricing.
Is that for the DS(4th Gen) or the DT?
That stock photo of the front end looks like a 4th Gen 1500.
Then again, isn't the suspension largely unchanged?

FWIW, my fathers 392 rockers went bad at 72k miles. Had the 100k warranty from factory(2015 model) and there was no questions asked about oil used/oil changes. Simple, "it's covered and you'll get it back in a few days" and that was that.
Always done his own maintenance from day 1.

Usually have had it in all the trucks/vehiciles I've had. While this truck won't see super soft sand/snow, I do drive through rain a lot and occasionally drive on dirt roads.

Completely spaced out that LSD/Anti-slip was an option when buying. Gear wise, getting tired of the truck downshifting from 8th when it hits any resistance.

I've been driving on the highway locking out 8th gear @ 80mph just to see the difference in mileage at ~1,700 rpm in 8th and ~2,100rpm in 7th.
