By that logic, the HEMI tick isn’t real, and cam issues don’t matter, and conventional oil is all you’d ever need....
But at some level, it’s true: will my truck explode if I don’t put an oil cooler in? No.
Would it be better if the oil temps didn’t go over 240? Yes, but the incremental...
Despite what others may say, there’s no real benefit, but real downsides, to automotive lubricating oil being over 220deg. Yes, synth have more thermal headroom/margin, but I want to ensure my truck’s oil doesn’t exceed 240 (which it does under certain towing circumstances). Daily driving...
Yes and no. The heat exchanger in the oil filter mount was added as part of their fuel efficiency thermal package. It’s all about warming oil filter flow. With such as small surface area, it only does anything when the water and oil temps are significantly different, which only happens for a...
Hoping I’m proven wrong, but I took it as gospel what some said about there being an engine oil cooler built into the radiator in the 5.7 1500’s. Nope!
May not be true for all, but my 20 Laramie Sport 5.7 3.92 has no engine oil cooler. When changing the oil (upgraded to larger Wix filter...
Thx!
The gen boxes are Buyers 1705100 aluminum Underbody Truck boxes, got from Zorro when on sale and with discount code. American made, quality stuff, not cheap or flimsy imported junk. They fit Honda eu2200 and similar very well. Used boat hatches for exh vent and electrical access...
Mesa Ridge MR2504BH, love the floor plan of this one! 29’ ball to bumper but the ProPride adds a foot more than my original WDH, the gen boxes another foot, bike racks, etc. 6900-7200# total, typically 7100 full up. We roll with 5.5kW battery bank, inverter, solar and dual gens, so it’s a bit...
Here’s just one example....
https://www.jayco.com/blog/notes-and-news/understanding-rv-weights-and-their-meanings/
The weights on the RV label are accurate for that specific unit, on the day it left the factory. The brochure/website numbers are marketing....
Nice work! Would gladly borrow it today, for a hamburger tomorrow...
You already know to make sure the TT is well-chocked, as the metal diagonal braces and short base aren’t going to do much if the TT moves. Is there a way to cal the scale? Many of those cheap imported scales suffer sig...
You should be fine with that trailer. Be aware, the 515# TW is marketing BS, you’ll wind up with around 700#. With a good WDH, that will be a sweet rig (GD knows how to do an nice interior!). Go enjoy it, and don’t loose sleep over those numbers...
in that line, look at the 2340 - I have the Mesa Ridge version of that floor plan, and love it...(big plus: the doors that close off the master bedroom)
Considering a cat-back exhaust system, and there are three things I require
1. Nice sound but not too much
2. Zero drone when towing
3. Not obnoxious, more aggressive than loud
So I’m after a lame upgrade - think the Mopar setup is my best bet?
Eaz-lift Recurve R6 with 800# bars. Good hitch, great weight dist , good anti-sway, excellent customer service. In my book, not as good as the Hensley or ProPride, but better than the Equalizer and the like. Only real downside is it’s not USA made.
When the Stop Start is in Stop mode, and the engine is off, and the Climate Control calls for the AC compressor to run, the Stop mode is ended, and the truck restarts.
If the Stop Start is active (all other conditions met), but the Climate Control is calling for the AC compressor, the truck...
My 2020 1500 HK is average at best. I’ve sat in a number of HK RAMs, and not one got close to being good. I tried to find one that was better, to get the dealer to deal with the low quality, but none of the many I tried were much better.
My wife’s 20 Volvo XC90 has the standard radio, and...
Makes me wonder why folks who do a lot of serious winching, don’t install a second battery closer to the winch. I wouldn’t want my start battery to be running my 12k winch, if I had a choice...
