My latest toy 2011 GT500 2800 miles on the clock.
Had the rims pvd chrome plated and swapped axle-back exhaust.
Swapping out the god awful taillights next.
Most of my life was in the car biz and this has happened back in the 70's. No internet and no forums. So the few people it happens to never connected like they do now. It's just the nature of glass. Some slip through QC, then bang and you have a seat full of glass mini ice cubes. I've had one...
It isn't heat causing the glass to break. It's most likely a glass flaw or it was chipped along the edge during assembly which is done at the vendor not Ram assembly plant. Rear windows, side glass and sunroofs all "explode" in all makes of vehicles.
It probably isn't that bad because your speedometer is off and you are actually traveling farther than your odometer indicates. I don't check mileage / economy but I think it's significant.
It's been brought a few times over the last 2 and a half years. It's far from a widespread problem. Good luck. Mine sat in the Florida sun for the first year and a half. Now it hardly sees sun up in Michigan.
I really think the adhesive just failed and the sun didn't have anything to do with it. If FCA denies the claim and it was mine bugging the daylights out of me, I'd locate a custom auto trim shop in my area and get a quote. I wouldn't let the dealer do it as a customer pay.
Injecting adhesive...
I've been away from the business for a number of years now (I've been retired for 8 years) and now dealer /manufacturer relationships are different. High volume stores do get better deals from the manufacturers with volume incentives. Years ago, that wasn't the case. Now small stores are at a...
I can guarantee that dealers have lost money to move a car. Now, on the December "Employee Pricing" incentives that I've seen on TV, those are not dealership "losers".
The reason I know dealers will occasionally lose money to sell a car is because I was in the car business for 20 years and...
I can relate. I'm bored with my truck and have the itch for a new dashboard to look at. That would eliminate the Ram at this point. I have convinced myself to hang on to my Ram for at least another year. Right now my #1 pick would be a Platinum hybrid F150. I fully expect the Ram to be basically...
That is a correct assumption. If it was bugging the daylights out of me with issues, it would be broomed already. It has been a good truck. I am going to buy a Chrysler extended warranty just to be safe. I've just hit 30,000 miles in 2.5 years. I'll do my best to get to a 2023 model. There's no...
I'm going to keep it for a while longer but..... It's just a truck..... transportation..... and stuff carrier for me now. It's kind of why I haven't been spending a mess of time on here. There's nothing wrong with it and I clean it up nearly daily, still. Unfortunately, being retired, I don't...
If you're going through the trouble to yank the battery, just take it to the dealership. Let them test it. If you take it to autozone, they'll tell you it's bad in order to sell you a new one whether it's bad or not.
