CarPlay is much different than just playing audio over Bluetooth. CarPlay is a subset of apps specifically formatted to be used on a modern vehicles media display.
Well after two days, I'm happy to report no aches and pains popping up yet. Spent a few hours making phone calls with everyone and FINALLY it seems like things are going to start moving along. Sending it to a local dealership chain's body shop, and I definitely plan on making sure all OEM parts...
The way it took the hit while I was driving was impressive. Truck was very calm, controlled, it wasn't even that loud. That's why I wasn't worried about the damage too much until I actually laid eyes on it. Seeing the damage now, I would have thought the in-cab experience would have been much worse.
Thanks for the kind words everyone! Super happy I'm ok, it could have been much worse for sure. My thought is that it might be totaled because the damage goes up so high on the cab, but I'm honestly not an expert in what it takes to total a vehicle nowadays. I've never crashed (on the road)...
Another driver swerved into me while trying to avoid someone swerving into them. Truck took it like a champ, but now I can't open either door on the passenger side. Have to wait until Monday to get things rolling with the insurances. Just fortunate everyone was ok. The way it felt inside the...
Obviously keep me (us) in the loop with your troubleshooting. I know it's only over the internet, but I just have this hunch that your hitch is the problem. When you say you don't like the ride of it, is it "harsh" like the way the back of a school bus bounces around sharply up and down, or is...
People also forget that gaining 10 or 15 HP at 5,500 RPM isn't going to offset losing the same or more torque at 2,200 RPM or 1,500 RPM or whatever the numbers may be. I'd rather see a mfg come out with a product that says hey, we didn't gain any peak power, but we added 50 lbs-ft at 2,200-4,500...
Can anyone measure the stock bar (or bars if you're so kind) diameter for me? My truck is right outside, but that's not the problem, my dial caliper is in Florida and I'm in Massachusetts, lol.
Yup, this is being echoed across this forum, and many others, as the issue with modern half ton trucks isn't the towing capacity, it's the low payload capacity. Heck, even now, modern HD trucks can get down into the 1,500 lb or less range with their payloads as well, because that 1,000 hp diesel...
Agree, I always let the truck do it's thing, in Tow /Haul or not.
Like mentioned above, in Tow / Haul, the truck has the full range of gears to select from, however, the way it chooses to select them is different, as it prioritizes economy, power, and refinement differently than the normal...
I guess my point is, with such a light trailer, if you're having problems now, it's a problem with your setup, as it really shouldn't even be enough weight to notice behind the truck. You know what I mean?
I know you said you had a class C RV, but have you towed conventionally before with a...
The chart is correct, your number's in the post don't match it...
DT is the new body style 2019 Ram 1500's internal chassis code. DS is for the old 2009 through 2018 body style, that is also being sold as a 2019 1500 "Classic".
If you're confident about your trailer numbers, try driving it for...
I agree, however, there are more rules to capitalism than just human safety and environmental. Somewhere along the line, there were a few consumer protection laws added in as well. And regardless, we have access to the theoretical "second" set of specs, and plenty of trucks still perform to it...
Which exhaust delete did you do?
Also, not pickin on ya or anything, but curious as to why the front section isn't wrapped as neatly as the rear? Just start running out of tape?
Do you have the Pano Roof? Sun glare can come through any windows, not just the windshield, especially at the angle this would happen at, the windshield is probably the least suspect spot.
I'm just guessing, that's what it looks like to me, heat damage from focused light. But who knows. Hope...
Looks like something reflected onto that surface and focused the heat. Should be a simple trim replacement at the dealer, if you can get them to buy it as defective. Did anyone leave sunglasses, glass, magnifying glass, curved cell phone, etc in the truck on a sunny day?
